Oleg's lore, if anyone's interested. I slightly reworked the way curses work in my au, so they gain power very gradually. For example, people around Zeref started dying back at the academy, but their deaths seemed unrelated, and the curse took longer to kill, until literally everyone who helped him investigate the connection between life, death, and people died. Oleg was Makarov's older brother, who was born with a high sensitivity to magic, so he was the first victim of Mavis's curse (which was overlooked, as the child was generally weak). Rita was the second victim of the curse, and with her death, Mavis realized that Oleg had died because of her too, which hit her hard.
