The Brave Leonard - Fairytale
She told me about this. A very old tale, she said.
There was a brave young boy named Leonard. Despite his young age, he was incredibly courageous. He could master anything he learned in an instant. It's no wonder his royal family was proud of him. He excelled in everything, from martial arts to regular subjects — anything you can think of.
One day, his father ordered him to go to a distant place. "Take the food that the servants have prepared for you," his father said. However, Leonard refused and bid farewell to his father, setting off with a group of soldiers assigned solely to him.
He journeyed for three days and finally arrived at a place called Hirane — a place infested with bandits who would rob and kill anyone who stood in their way. As the prince's son, Leonard was warmly welcomed by the locals. He could only see a swarm of people enjoying their meals.For two days, they stayed there, guarding the small town with all their might. They managed to stop several planned attacks by the bandits. They had only thwarted half of the alleged illegal organizations.
One day, Leonard was patrolling the town of Hirane. Suddenly, in the middle of the road, he saw a beautiful girl sitting under a cherry tree. She exuded extraordinary grace, and her face was adorned with a captivating smile. His heart was instantly captivated by her beauty and cheerfulness.
They locked eyes, and Leonard felt an indescribable connection between them.
Unbeknownst to the girl, there was a bandit plotting to rob her.
Leonard spotted the bandit and immediately ran towards the cherry tree. He ran and ran. The bandit sensed his presence and quickly fled the scene. However, the bandit, overwhelmed by Leonard's speed, was caught. Leonard pushed him and slammed him onto the greenish-gray grass. The desperate bandit reached for his poisoned knife and killed poor Leonard.
News of Leonard's death quickly spread throughout the town. The people of Hirane, who loved him, felt the loss of a kind and courageous soul.
His father, upon hearing the news, wept bitterly for several nights, mourning the departure of his beloved Leonard. He then prayed that his soul would be remembered and that he could see the Earth one last time.
And so, Leonard became a comet that would visit Earth early next year—to commemorate his deeds until the day he died and to catch a final glimpse of the girl who had captured his heart.
