(Y/n) sipped some of her tea, leaning against the balcony railing of her apartment and watching the lights of Linkon sparkle in the night. She sighed, missing her boyfriend who was working late for the night. Something about last minute pack meetings. 

Two hours later, she was watching reruns of her favorite show. The front door opened and in came Valko, his head down. 

“Hey, babe.” She smiled, standing and going in for a hug. 

He wrapped his strong, warm arms around her, nuzzling her neck and breathing in her scent. “Hey…”

Pulling back, (Y/n) frowned up at him. She knew that tone in his voice. “What’s wrong?”

His golden eyes were filled with sorrow. “Nothing…I just…” He sighed and looked away. “Nothing.”

That didn’t sit well with (Y/n). But to give him time, she nodded and prepared some food for him. After eating, they both got ready for bed. 

Valko laid beside her while she read, staring at the ceiling with a hand underneath his head. She reached for his empty one and held it, interlocking their fingers. 

“Valko, talk to me,” she said softly. 

He closed his eyes and winced from something on his mind. “Do people…really hate me?” 

“Oh, Valko.” (Y/n) placed her book to the side and laid down, cupping his cheeks. “Look at me.” 

It took him a second, but he obliged. 

She kissed his lips. “You’re loved by me, your friends, and your family,” said (Y/n). “Fuck what the haters say. You’re amazing, you’re beautiful, and you’re the sweetest person I know. There will be people who try to bring you down, but you’ll rise above it all at the end. ”

He pressed his forehead against hers and closed his eyes. “Thank you, babe,” he whispered. “Sometimes I just need to be reminded.” 

She nodded. “Want me to whip up some chocolate milk for you?”
