Breaking (arts) news! Princeton University alum and countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum-Cohen '15 just won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Finals an hour ago! Watch a video about his experience with opera while an undergraduate at Princeton.

Princeton University senior and philosophy major Monique Claiborne, who has been awarded a Luce Scholarship that will allow her to spend the next year in Asia. She hopes to pursue an internship in arts and entertainment in Seoul, South Korea, such as at a record label, film production studio or arts magazine.

Research without lab coats: For a Feb. 2016 production of “Elektra,” a Greek tragedy, Princeton University senior Julia Peiperl found inspiration in the image of a 1950s “brush doll” provided to her by the lead actress: brush on the bottom, doll on the top. Much like a document might inspire a historian to turn to the archives, this image led Julia to do more pictorial research, eventually settling on a time period (the 1950s) and a color scheme (pastels). One of his projects, “Atlanta,” won two #GoldenGlobe awards this week: Best TV series — musical or comedy, and lead actor Donald Glover (2nd from right) won Best Actor in a TV series — musical or comedy. Oh, yeah, and Samit majored in #EastAsianstudies.

"I played Zach Florrick on “The Good Wife.” I was homeschooled the first few seasons but when it came time for college, I was craving a 'normal' social experience and, ideally, an old Gothic campus that would make me feel academic enough to stay focused on learning about things not directly pertaining to my career for four years.
