Merric is the earliest and most classic Mage in Fire Emblem series, the appearance of him and his wind-blade magic possibly inspired the overall design for Mages appearing across the series. Over the decades I just couldn't stop being so crazy about him (Well, I'm more crazy about Asvel in later series but Asvel resembles him.) It seems no matter how many games or cartoons I have played or watched in my life, the ones that can hit me the hardest are the ones from my teenage years.
