We’re finally here. Next up is Hoover Dam, the end of it all and I can’t fucking believe the wild ride it’s been, my friends. But we’ll save the sob story for then.

a lot of people, on Reddit when I was posting, getting thousands of upvotes and shit, used to say things like “I hope Mr bitches and Boone don’t fall in love, Boone belongs to Carla.” And they’re not wrong. I didn’t know how to tell them that I was 50 steps ahead of them being that this scripts been written for a year now. Boone and Mr. Bitches story was never going to be one of freedom and whimsy. Both characters are broken individuals, with baggage, and pain unmeasurable… as is humanity most times. Boone will always love Carla; in this life, and the next, and the next. I imagine at least, but with love and dedication, we are human still. Exploring those themes of still falling for someone else though, despite that pain, and the traumas of the past was something I was always hell bent on portraying. It’s why maybe things have been painful in the comic, from time to time. To delve into the mindset of two broken individuals, in a broken world, navigating things like gender, sexual trauma, loss, mourning, has always been a part of the plan, and has always been one of the main reasons that I’ve enjoyed working on the story of Boone and Mr bitches for the last year and a half.

after all, a love that lasts, only lasts because flaws and all, when we accept each other and the world for what it is, we’re willing to work through it, and become stronger together. That’s what love is. I hope soon, I can find it too like Mr. Bitches. I’m proud of him, and his growth. I’m proud of this version I created of Boone, and his growth as well. I’m happy we’ve all been on this journey together.

Anyway, the comic was born out of

my thoughts about Caine's model lacking many essential facial features (as if he was never intended to show any emotions) and yet him being literally the most expressive character in the circus despite everything.

me being low-key obsessed with the implications episode 7 left us with. Players questioning everything they've been told and Caine being in the center of it all.

I want them all to be healed and happy, little guy absolutely included, but man the situation is rough, and the odds are against us
