My Mom was amazing in so many ways. She lived through what would defeat some and definitely damage the rest. She always managed to find not only the humor in almost any situation, she would act on it. My friends think that I am a very unique individual because I do not fear situations, people, or the voices of the ignorant. What they do not know is that I learned this technique. It was the most valuable thing she departed to me. What people think does not define us, but what we think does. My Mom fought battles her whole life, of one sort or another, but the one with cancer was the only one she lost. December 22, 2000 my family said goodbye to the bravest woman I have ever known. She had a passion for writing, telling stories and the English language in general. Back in the 80's and early 90's she tried to get her stories published the old fashioned way. She was not privy to the options available today. It is my goal, starting with this blog, to get her stories out there for the public to read. That was always her main goal. She had ideas she wanted out there. Hopefully to change a life, make a difference, or open a thought process with her words.
