You can't fight attraction. No matter how hard you try. Even though I know that the woman of my dreams will be spending Valentine's in the arms of another man the thought of her still makes me smile. I guess that's what it comes down to. That "Unconditional" part of unconditional love.

Maybe I'm simply staying the fool, but if it's a foolish thing to be in love with the most beautiful, kind and caring creature on the planet then so be it! I'm a fool!

I know I will never be hers nor she mine, but the thought, the dream, the fragile wish, is still strong enough to send my heart racing and my temperature to rise.

Writing this helps. It clears my mind from the fog it's been in since last night. God I'm jealous! I've always been so strong so. Maybe because so many other men have coveted my love so easily, and although I cannot stand opposed, I still find myself second best. However, due to geography or happenstance, I am alone and as a man of breeding and strong character I must dust myself off and remember that I got to see heaven in her eyes, even for just a fleeting moment.

Maybe that day will come again and I'll once more be blinded by her beauty as she stares with adoration in my direction. It maybe the only dream I have left, but it's a good place to start!
