Dinefwr Castle is a historic medieval castle overlooking the town of Llandeilo in Wales. Built on a hill above the River Tywi, it was one of the most important strongholds of the medieval Welsh princes.

The castle was constructed in the 12th century by Rhys ap Gruffydd, one of the most powerful rulers in Welsh history. It served as the seat of the Kingdom of Deheubarth and played a key role in resisting Norman expansion into Wales.

During the 13th century, the castle changed hands several times during conflicts between the Welsh princes and the English Crown. After the conquest of Wales by Edward I, it gradually lost its military importance.

Today, Dinefwr Castle stands as a picturesque ruin within a nature reserve, offering panoramic views of the Tywi Valley and serving as a symbol of Wales’s medieval heritage.
