I don’t know if anyone has ever done this before but, here ya go… The Different Types of Fanfiction! 

Kai has been pushing himself to be what anyone and everyone needs from him since he was 5.

He took on a protective, almost parental role over Nya because that’s what she needed. He became a blacksmith despite not being good at it and not enjoying it because that’s the hole their parents left behind. He became a ninja not because he wanted to, but out of necessity and Wu and Nya’s insistence.

His whole life was dedicated to filling a hole in other people’s lives, so when there’s a legend of a prophesied savior who steps forward to save the world, of course he’s gonna try to become that. Kai was left with nothing from a very young age and has since tried to become everything.

He keeps trying to prove himself, to justify himself as worthy of attention and praise, and the “Green Ninja” was just another attempt. He finally has something that he enjoys, something that he’s good at, somewhere he fits, and someone else is supposed to come along to save them? Nuh uh, Kai knows better. No one is coming to save him, no one ever has. He only has himself and whoever he tricked into thinking he’s good enough that week.
