Canonically, we know both that Sally used to call Arthur Sparky (see the SPARKY + SALAMANDER text on the ‘wedding stones’ in the Parade), and that Arthur’s current lizard is Sparky (as evidenced by obituary text). Lizards only live about 15 years, so we all know what that means.
When they separated, Arthur got the closest thing he could find to a salamander and named it what his very own salamander used to call him.

I am now posting it because I think the final Uncle Jack tape shown in-canon, being often interrupted, is not quite as affecting as the original I heard, and I’ve included a transcript below the cut.

One year ago, right about when Compulsion first released the animated loading screens for Early Access, I made a bullet journal spread getting all excited about it. Yesterday, I made this spread getting all excited about the full release. When I looked at the dates, I realized it had been one year.

The one thing I really like to entertain myself with, that really gets my gears running, is the thought of Sally and Arthur making up instead of parting ways and not only running away together but becoming abysmally close, with Sally perhaps periodically having her episodes of doubt about their friendship and fear that Arthur doesn’t really like her only to have Arthur indignantly shout for the whole world to hear that of course he likes Sally, in fact, he loves her, and anybody who wants to hurt her is going to have to blah blah blah and Ollie comes over for tea and has to calm both of them down because they’re being idiots as usual, even though he knows full well they’re going to bring up that time he pissed on everybody again, because they just won’t shut up about it. Jack is very excited to hear this story about his husband for the sixth time.
