THEY PULLED A FURY ROAD

YES! I was going to go see this today but then my car died. Maybe I can catch it on the cheapskate Tuesday.

It was explained why they did this: to attract white people to go watch it and think Matt Damon was the hero when he wasn’t. It was a clever marketing move from the studio to get white people’s money.

As a person who’s worked on this film from the VFX side, I’d like you to know that the VFX for this movie (everything from the wall itself to the valleys to the crane girls jumping up and down) was done mostly in Asian studios; the VFX was hubbed from the Singapore office of Lucasfilm and another Asian studio that worked on it was BaseFX based in Beijing. Many people of color, many Asians worked on this film, and every penny you pay to see this movie helps us bring more of such films to you. The VFX industry is seriously underpaid and films like this help pay our salaries, help put food on the table. If you boycott this movie for the reason that this is another Hollywood-whitewashing-white-savior mess, not only are you WRONG ABOUT THE FILM, you will indirectly affect the careers of many Asians and people of color who have worked on this film, because when films do badly it’s not studio executives who lose their jobs but the artists and production people who are at the bottom of the food chain.

@suzie-guru thank you for the shout out! =) I only did minimal work on this movie (although my name was credited); husband did more shots in it. But it's really nice to see that the movie is being encouraged to watch and to dispell that unsavory image it seem to have in US.

People might not realize how groundbreaking this is to recognize in India.
