I began to know more of the rocks and the rivers, the trees and even the wind. I began to know myself as a vital part of it all.

I forgot how good it felt to be up before the neighbourhood, sneaking - naked and squealing with cold. The thrill of a Hutt River dip, like a sacred rite. I return, I return, I return.

I haven’t been on here for years. But I remembered that I started this because I love photography and nature. Because sharing the beauty I found made my heart ache and fill to the brim. I remembered that I did this for myself, and that is enough.

I'm back from my trip to snowy Canada, and I have new waders, boots and a hat! Time to get in the water and test them out

An early morning drive to the Waihou Stream was well worth it just for this sunrise
