My heart is litterally screaming. All i want is you but you only realized what we had after you threw it away to explore something else. You crossed my boundries bc the desire to be around someone else was greater than your desire to respect me and our relationship or my feelings. I love you more than you can imagine. I wish it wasnt like this.
âShe asked me to paint her like a ghost, to strip her of the body structure that defined her and to expose the shades that were hidden behind, to shed light on the anatomy of her soul and show her how is it I saw her. She wanted to see how I loved her, she wanted to see why I loved her and I failed because what I saw was colorless madness and catastrophic magic, what I saw was too sacred to be painted and too sinful to be exposed; I saw the reflection of my own soul shadowing hers.â
â VĂ Zaki Nada
I am captured by you again and again
I've loved you across every lifetime
There is a special type of ache
that burns slow, consumes
ashes to ashes the bridge collapses
the way home swallowed by scortched earth
and i am on the edge, watching your shadow fade in the starless night, and my every heartbeat howls at the moon
as we become everything for nothing at all, a whisper, an unrequitited dream,
Another promise you couldn't keep.

I offered you an olive branch
you cauterized the tree
you see me, see a shadow across the shoreline
you do not mourn the doves neck snapped in two
and I am not the listless body in the palm of your hand
those broken bones ive long abandoned
Returned to earth
Thunderclap and spring blossom
softer, stronger
Been editing lots of old poems. So nice to do edits when you have new perspectives and to see what some good some distance does.
NightNDay
Prelude:
you donât know me anymore,
but you know the curve of the body persistsâ hands pressed into the sheets breath pressed into the pillow shadows arched against the wall all this time still it lingers, tangled in the threads between the start and the end.
Night
you donât know me anymore
but night but crumbs but witching hours leave you honest and when the moon kisses the corners of your room a phantom invites itself into bed and you cup yourself into the nook of a memory, loneliness rising and falling, dreaming a dream where nostalgia doesnât feel like an open wound.
Day
When the day breaks, rub me from your eyes, promise promise you will, after all
you donât know me, not anymore.
when we see each other now, we look away
Define, insanity; doing the same thing and expecting different results. so, we were crazy about each other.Â
we tried and tried in vain and in love to fit comfortably. blinded, back then, the truth too harsh, too foreign.
with her tongue, you scorched the Earth, gave no mercy, no penance for the raw welt down my spine.
you are, an empty room an echo an apparition, not something to be worshiped, not sorryÂ
I, on the other hand, am buckled at the knees in a windowless room I, on the other hand, deserve my tender prayers.

Truth is
/
My lips press together, sit on the edge of my nerves and at the bar next to you We discuss salt, i mean us. say we want to stay friends. donât mean it. I drive you home, say goodbye and it is the only truth left between us.
/
love does not exit slowly, it flings you from a fucking rollercoaster but not matter what I say the next day, I mean it, Iâm in for the long haul. I canât wait for the concrete to shatter my teeth, for the pain, iâll bear it all just to unstitch your name out of my mouth.Â
/
they always talk about foundation and baby they were right. concrete wonât do us any good, there isnât enough lies that can put the truth back together, though you tried. i always saw through it, and but when someone yells louder than your gut, you start to believe youâre wrong. it makes me queasy, how convincing you are. but it always came out, the mushrooms call the truffle pig.Â
oink oink. hope it was it worth it.
/
truth is, this was way overdue.Â
truth is i never wrote you a love poem, or not that many, or none that i could finish, or none that i wanted to share or none that i am willing to dig up.Â
truth is, most the time goodbye at our fingertips, at any given moment, and that is no way to live, certainly no way to finish a love poem.Â
truth is, i wonât stay mad forever, but I promise, Iâm gone.Â
confessions by usher
these are my late-night-blog-entries-hope-i-donât-regret-this, these are the things I will deny if you ask me if this is about you, these are my confessions the Truth is I was never all the way in, not really
you see, fear has a strong pull & I pulled back & there is nothing like a strangers bed to soften losing a tug of war to slow the burn out
I never told you, I turned towards an exit Truth is I loved you but I didnât want to Truth is I didnât quite know how Truth is I lied
(Iâm sorry).
Kamikaze
we canât exist inside lines, weâve tried, we divulge
in and out, smearing the easel, we love
and fuck and love and blur unrecognizable
when you say you love me, I feel the devine wind, fangs against the carotid, and it is
utter carnage each moment we stay.
Fuck I miss you I miss you I miss you. I miss my dad so much this grief feels like itâs going to eat me alive.
In my dream you were still Alive
Some nights I snap violently awake, midnights tenuity offering no distractions. Nothing between the lonely moon and I to quell your absence, only surrender.  Â
Despite the tears that protest, you are sanctioned to memory. I miss your voice impossibly so and the void tugs at all corners as the last time I said hello stretches across the room
and I am powerless as life dances around me
so beautifulÂ
so devastatingly fleeting.Â

in my dream you were still alive
some nights I snap violently awake, midnights tenuity offering no distractions,
nothing between the moon and I to quell your ferocious absence, only surrender
and I miss you impossibly so, the void tugs at all corners as the last time I said hello stretches across the room
and I am agonizingly powerless as life continues to dance around me
so beautiful, so devastatingly fleeting.Â
Grief comes knocking on a Wednesday afternoon
12:37 pm
I cling to your old white tee, holding it as if it could hold me back. I think of you across the kitchen table, newspaper in one hand, cafe negro in the other. You always used to tell me the secret to a healthy life was some yerba mate, a full glass of water and an apple. I boil some water, sob into an empty mug.Â
01:13 pm
the teapot gets cold. I ask questions with impossible answers.
Why?
Why on such an ordinary day did a heart stop beating?
02:00 pm
I am flat on my back, star-fishing on my unmade bed. Avada Kedavra, Heart Attack, all the same. I reach up toward the ceiling across an imaginary veil and find only absence, only wind swirling around broken peanut shells and bits of crumpled newspaper.
The last time we face-timed you said you looked old. I said you didnât look a day over 22, but for the first time I noticed how age clung to your checks and peppered your hair. You chuckled and said âHay que dar gracias por lo que tienesâ you have to give thanks for what you have.
2:15 pm
I am not thankful, not now, not yet, just angry
angry because your laugh canât bellow through my phone speaker, angry because you were supposed to call me on the weekend
angry because the weekend had the nerve to go on without you, and then the weeks, and then the month
angry because I am not angry, just
forced to move through these ordinary days, without you, dad.
