But I think people let it slide because their design is very fantastical?

The fantasy equivalent of mechs I believe would be golems tho.

I mean I feel like you could call any of our more sci fi stuff fantastical too...I think it's more that they felt so low tech that it didn't ruin the genre.

Ive been playing a bunch of avatar legends

The game is Hella fun, even if ranked isn't here at launch which sucks.

It's making me try to remember my opinions on legend of Korra, as I think I watched it at a formative age.

....I think book 3 was good, and I like bolin. That's about all I can muster, it's been a few years since a rewatch.

(Where can I even watch those...is it just paramount plus now?)

Splatoon raiders post game spoilers

So the 3 islands were pretty easy to clear.

But the bottomless buffet is no joke. It's 100 layers of hell, and I'm stuck at floor 7.

I love it. Gonna force me to optimize my laodout, get better weapons ND gadget parts.

I would argue that HSR is actually the most scifi it has ever been since Amphoreus and Planarcadia because it engages with concepts that could not exist otherwise in a fantasy setting. Like, I believe that there are elements in Amphoreus and Planarcadia that genuinely could not be replicated in a fantasy setting like Genshin even if you try to change around the terms and roles.

For the three previous "planets" of HSR on the other hand, you could apply fantasy elements and tropes on them and nothing would really change the core themes of their stories.

Similarly, you cannot actually apply scifi themes and tropes onto a lot of Genshin's themes and current story because a lot of Genshin's writing is actually centered around looking back on history. Which is a very fantasy thing in literature.

Some other stuff about the raiders final boss

A. I love how deep cut doesn't waste time, they're ready to fight, thinking fast when they're out of eggs, and not even taking a second to cower, they just hype themselves ip when the monarch appears.

B. The difficulty felt good. Or maybe just hype. Realistically you have infinite lives, but it feels tense. One because. .look at that thing. And two, because the salmonoids spawn out if egg bubbles that can ve popped, but at least for me, it was practically impossible. It felt like a tough battle.

C. Deep cut calls themselves deep fam, cuz mechanic is part of it!

Hsr fate 2 spoilers

Ive been enjoying the event quite a bit, the gameplay mode is a joy, and the silliness is good too. I'd never imagine polyxia would be into mechas.

And it's good to see a couple chrhos heirs again! Also I'm enjoying the fate characters too, I'm getting little drops of context, it's fun.

I like these little things. Rin thinks wonweek has a cute face, and the trailblazer called blade Hot. (Blade and sw have been totally absent, which feels like a chechovs gun of sorts.)

Butyeah, its a good time. Plenty of just old enemies used as fefrence or stand ins, but I'll manage. I think they use the setting of planarcadia and it's imaegensis quite well
