Arley grew up in a large, boisterous family. With four sisters always trying to drag him into their games, he grew a habit of sneaking off to hang around with his friends, much happier exploring and goofing off outside. That sentiment followed him into his school life, where he struggled to sit still or focus. Arley was held back more than once and although he was able to laugh it off, the experience left a dent in his confidence when it came to academia.

After taking a year off, Arley is back in college, determined not to be written off as another one of Godscobh's many failures. However, even with the best of intentions, he's still finding himself unable to knuckle down and focus on his studies. Leaving him constantly on the verge of failing, often having to rely on friendliness and charm to talk his way into second chances. Despite these setbacks, he's enjoying the college experience, at least socially. His curious and over-confident nature has made him well liked and when he isn't the life of the party, he's usually flirting with just about anybody willing to give him airtime.

Though he doesn't know exactly what he wants just yet, he's trying to keep as many doors open as possible, hoping at least one of them will lead him to something that'll work out.

"Aw, sugar, I could've gotten my own! But thank you," Tiana took the coffee anyways with a smile - it wasn't as if they were in any position to turn down free stuff. Though Arley was also still in school, it seemed they had a mutually beneficial trade going with free leftovers from their restaurant and free coffee exchanged whenever he could.

The warm drink was delivered just in time too, since the cold February wind picked up around them quickly and left the pair shielded by only their jackets. Well, jackets, and Arley's slightly taller body that Tiana could conveniently hide behind, "Ugh, you don't mind if I walk behind you? This weather is driving me crazy!"

"You kiddin? I love you walkin' behind me. Means if they sneak up on me, they get you first!" He teased, leaving it open as to who 'they' were. In reality, it didn't bother him at all. Growing up, he usually had at least one of his sisters hot on his tail, so, it made little odds to him. "Do you think the weather's ever gonna let up? It's been dark and cold forever now! I mean, I know Spring is on its way, but, is there any way we can...y'know...hurry it up a bit?" He was trying to keep things light, but he still worried about her. "Do you want my jacket? Might help you get some warmth going."

"Hey, at least I'm making sure the 'gross' stuff doesn't go to waste. Sometimes there's so much food we have to throw out at the eat of the night, it's just sad," Food that could easily be donated to the homeless around town... But a lot of business owners didn't want people like that hanging around their shops, "If stuff doesn't get eaten, it just gets taken to the dump to rot."

"Awh, mint chocolate chip?" He began to complain, but stopped himself from carrying on. He could practically hear his mother berating him for being ungrateful. "I mean, mint choc chip's cool. I mean, you can't exactly have bad ice-cream, can you? Can ice-cream even go bad?" He furrowed his brow, now wondering about the process of making ice-cream rather than anything useful or present to the conversation. He linked arms with her, looking around for a moment taking inventory of their surroundings. "Yeah, it's better than going to waste, even if it's gross." he relented. "But, why don't you keep it all from going to waste? Why let any of it get thrown out? Do you have, like, a gross-meter as to what does and doesn't get to come home?" And if she did, how on earth did mint chocolate chip manage to pass the test? "You could always bring it to the uni, those guys would eat just about anything, especially if it's cheap. I'd could help you out, if you wanted. They listen to me, so, I could make sure it stays on the down low."

"here," she gently handed him her bag of groceries, "you can carry this, there's some snacks inside too if you want to nibble on something while you walk me home." the brunette kept her laptop bag close to her, but otherwise accommodated Arley in his request of 'chivalry'.

Arley grinned as she shot him a look. He was well used to it, more often than not chancing his arm at something or other. Though, his smile faltered as she offered up the groceries, wanting to make sure he had them in secure arms before continuing his easy persona. "Snacks? See, it's like you knew you needed company." He began to rummage best he could, pawing over the top layer of what was in the bag. "I swear, if you've got pretzels in here, I may as well just get down on one knee and propose right now."

"You're sweet though, you can carry all the takeout I stole from work. Since we didn't know how long the freezers would be broken, they sent me home with a bunch of meat and ice cream."

"Well, neither do I. So, that's good then, isn't it?" He insisted, unwilling to budge from his initial stance. "Means we can just enjoy the walk home. I don't have to worry about having to save you." he paused for a beat, before tacking on, "Which I could totally do, if I had to. Wouldn't even be hard to do." "What a killer combo." He screwed up his face, nose twitching as she handed over the takeout. "I'm a vegetarian, so, you're on your own with the gross half. The ice-cream, however... I mean, if you needed saved from ice-cream, the offer would still stand."
