Like, Lava, Kroos, and Mr. Nothing first find Saga inside Dusk’s painting, and her first words are “Hark! I am most at home when I am ringing this bell!” as if she’s from a vastly different time period than the others. This is further reinforced by how she understands the rules of the Painting world because she has been there for so long, and how her backstory is that she was a traveling monk and how her mentor was involved with Dusk in a story that appears to be closer to mythology than reality. 

Then, when they make their escape from the painting and Saga speaks with Dusk, Dusk asks Saga how long she thinks she’s been in the painting, and Saga responds with “I have counted the changing of the seasons ten times.” and Dusk says she’s wrong. That’s when you expect it. The cruel words. She had been in the painting for centuries, the people and world she knew all gone with the passage of time. She will now be a total stranger in a brand new world, perhaps unable to ever truly fit in with modern technology and customs. And then Dusk says

Her event opens with her covered in blood, and immediately boarding the train where the other characters of the story are by jumping onto its roof while it’s moving, whom she chases terminator style. It turns out in the end she was covered in blood because she was helping a neighbor with the birth of a farm animal unprompted, which left her uniform caked in blood from the birth, and she boarded the train because she was running late somewhere and just so happened to spot some suspicious people in it. It’s explained that Degen just helping out neighbors and being super beloved by them is a daily ocurrence. Her Files touch on this plenty as well.

While chasing these people, she overhears some tourists pondering where to go. She stops, gives tourism recommendations, then continues chasing and instantly catches up. She’s got Bugs Bunny powers.
