I'm aware that I’ve introduced her before, but I recently gave her a major revamp! she’s officially her own person now instead of just an extension of me.

The "I'm not good enough" mentality: The opening line “If I could begin to be half of what you think of me” is how Lane feels behind all that charm. He looks at how MC sees right through his act and treats him as an equal, and it honestly scares him because he thinks he's a mess on the inside.

His desire to grow: When the song says “I could even learn how to love” I feel like that's Lane deciding to stop being lazy and messy. MC is the one person who makes him want to actually try, get his act together, and stop ruining the good things in his life.

His deep disbelief: When the song asks “What makes you think I'm so special?” it's Lane dropping his cocky armor entirely. Because he secretly views himself as a lazy mess who ruins good things, he’s genuinely baffled and terrified that someone as good as the MC actually chooses him over anyone else.

​ So basically it's Lane finally letting his guard down and realizing that, despite all his flaws, he’s actually allowed to be loved and accepted for who he really is and I think I find that really cute to be honest 🥹💖

Literally crawled back from my hiatus just to say that i was waiting everyday for this new update to release, and i can't believe it's been almost a WEEK already!! you've totally got me hooked to complete everything 😭❤️ but seriously, just finished playing through the new BBD update (including the incomplete routes bc i have no self control lol) and i just need to scream about how much i love it and how hard Laly worked on this!!

I started with Lane #1 and oh my god... the writing??? INCREDIBLE. i spent the entire time alternating between wanting to punch him straight across the face and wanting to just hug him slowly so that he knows he’s not alone. the emotional whiplash is so real, but it makes him such a fascinating, deeply tragic character.

The world building and attention to detail in the point & click sections genuinely blew me away. finding those tiny glimpses into his childhood like the old photos from when he was young and the childlike handwriting in the family pictures just tells you SO MUCH about his family history without explicitly saying it. it really makes my view of him so much clearer and sadder.

The dialogue feels so smooth and realistic, and THE ART?! The CGs and new sprites with alternating outfits for almost every route are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AS ALWAYS!! like the sheer amount of effort that went into the visuals this time around is insane.
