With a dutiful nod, the hedgehog walked behind, and soon alongside, Jae. He hadn’t quite run into anyone else he knew yet, so this was a rather pleasant change of pace. A lot had happened behind the curtains, and it would be fun to talk it over, or even vent a little.

Just a little.

“So.. Did anything real interesting happen otherwise, while I was gone?” Silver asked, gesturing loosely with open hands. “It always seems like strange or, sometimes cool things happen to the both of us all the time.”

  “Well…”

 She guessed that a world full of hedgehogs and eggs would lead way to odd things, so a big wizard? Not too crazy for around these parts. Jae let out an awkward laugh.

 “There was this wizard.” She pauses, to let that settle in. “He was in bad shape, so I dunked him in some rust cleaner, and despite him whining and such, and also mispronouncing my simple name terribly, he was fine. I guess.”

Judging by her description, it sounded like a robo-wizard of some sort. But, he knew she was able to see much more than he was, even without time travel, and decided to play along.

There was a lengthy pause from when she stopped talking, to when Silver cleared his throat again.

“.. Can I.. See? The crab, I mean.” He laughed at his own joke for a little, shaking his head. “I mean Bitz.. and the crab, please.” It was nice to talk to someone who wouldn’t laugh at his way of talking, or the way he still had a little lisp at all the S sounds.

  “Yeah! Sure!” She motions the other to follow her. “We’re close to my home anyways, it’s just fine.”

“I know, right? I turned away for one second, and- Oh, I have a lot to talk about in such a short amount of time! How am I gonna sum all this up?” Realizing he was still hugging her, Silver let go of Jae, dropping on his feet. “There’s a- Let’s see, there’s.. Uhh, my history books got a new chapter or so, and they said something about a bunch of technicolor robots with the Phantom Ruby! Oh, that’s-”

He broke away to cough into his fist.

“I can’t run my mouth like that,” he chuckled, awkward. “A lot happened in the past, and I’ve been reading about it. That’s it.”

 Sigh. It was genuinely nice to see Silver again. Most people she knew were really only to acquaintance level, at best. She paused at the whole ‘phantom ruby’ thing. She could’ve swore she saw that in one Ivo’s notes… Whatever. it was just history to Silver, the actual time traveler, so.

   “Ah. I mean, I got a pet crab and upgraded Bitz, so that’s… Something, I guess.”

Oh, that really hurt. 

Shaking his head, Silver grinned at the girl before opening his arms for an embrace. “Jae! It feels like it’s been a- Like- Like it’s been twenty years, or something! How’ve you been, huh? Anything cool happen? It’s so cool to see you again!” Cutting off his own levitation, he had to stand up on his toes and moreso to remain where he was.

  Man, how long has it been? These hedgehogs seem to barge in and then barge out. Jae kinda. Wrapped her arms around the other and let out a ‘mn’. He was so fluffy… 

 “I donno if it’s been that long…” She lets out a bit of a laugh at that. “I uh. Some stuff has happened, but it’s mostly… ‘Here and there’ stuff.”

He broke away to cough into his fist.

“.. H- Hey! Hey!! Hold up!” came his excited grin.

He recognized that shape down there! With all the enthusiasm of a horde of puppies, Silver took from the sky to the streets, following along behind the little pink bow he was so used to seeing.

“Hold on! Hey! I missed-” The rest was cut off the instant the psychic collided with a street pole, bouncing back and only kept upright thanks to his psychic powers. “Y- You..”

  Jae was just heading back home from a usual ‘junk run’, where she shuffled through a certain egg’s junkyard and took any good pieces to work with. She wasn’t expecting anything special. You know, until she heard a voice and saw a ball of fluff hit one of the many out of commission street poles.
