FAMILY   :   the  jung  family  comes  from  a  semi  -  long  line  of  success.  although  her  father  is  considered  old  money  due  to  him  taking  over  as  creative  director  for  anjung  soju  (  a  company  that  was  started  by  his  grandfather  )  ,  her  mother  is  considered  new  money  since  she  started  jung  cosmetics  in  the  year  of  2000.  her  mother  was  a  well  known  figure  in  the  beauty  pageant  industry  ,  having  won  miss  korea  a  couple  of  times  in  her  prime  ,  so  she  was  bound  to  find  her  way  into  the  beauty  industry.  they  decided  to  move  to  the  united  states  at  first  because  they  felt  as  though  it  would  help  with  the  expansion  of  their  businesses  &  brand.  at  the  time  ,  they  were  in  the  works  of  building  a  conglomerate.  so  ,  they  decided  to  settle  in  newport  beach  ,  california.  the  city  was  affluent  &  it  was  the  perfect  place  to  start  to  build  their  family.  the  ended  up  in  toronto  a  few  years  later  to  experiment  with  the  country  of  canada  &  never  went  back.  although  ,  they  still  kept  the  house  for  when  they  decide  to  vacation.  

when  ariel  was  born  ,  her  whole  life  was  practically  mapped  out  for  her.  image  was  everything  to  the  jung  family  ,  so  they  made  sure  that  ariel  lived  up  to  their  name.  from  the  schools  she  went  to  ,  the  grades  she  got  (   bc  they  def’  made  generous  donations  to  the  schools  she  went  to  in  order  to  keep  her  at  the  top  of  her  class  in  middle  school  if  she  was  ever  second   )  ,  the  friends  she  kept  &  the  way  she  presented  herself  to  the  public.  everything  had  to  be perfect  &  if  it  wasn’t  ,  faking  it  like  it  was  was  always  the  first  option.  her  life  was  set  up  for  her  to  succeed they  were  willing  to  do  anything  to  make  that  happen.

because  of  the  immense  amount  of  pressure  ,  ariel  &  her  mother  often  butt  heads.  ariel’s  mother  can  be  extremely  verbally  abuse  when  it  comes  to  ariel.  she  always  feels  as  though  ariel  doesn’t  do  enough.  she  criticizes  her  to  no  end  because  she  believes  that  is  the  only  way  for  ariel  to  be  the  best  that  she  can  be.  because  of  this  ,  ariel’s  resentment  towards  her  mother  is  extremely  high.  she  feels  as  though  her  controlling  behavior  is  ruining  her  life.  she  is  a  tiger  parent  at  it’s  finest  &  ariel  is  sick  of  it.  she  has  slowly  started  to  rebel  ,  but  not  in  any  way  that  is  extreme.  she’s  just  been  talking  back  a  lot  more  &  refusing  certain  things  if  she  doesn’t  want  to  do.  she  never  really  wins  when  it  comes  to  her  mother  ,  but  she  is  trying  to  be  released  from  the  clutches.  she  is  also  very  in denial  about  her  mental  health  because  she  thinks  what  her  mother  does  is  normal  since  she’s  used  to  it  ,  but  it’s  really  exhausting  her.  it  is  the  main  reason  she  is  so  terrible  to  others  because  she  is  taking  out  what  her  mother  does  to  her  on  others.  which  is  fucked  up  ,  but  hopefully  she  will  have  a  redemption  where  she  can  be  a  feisty  bitch  without  being  a  toxic  bitch.

BEAUTY  PAGEANTS  :  since  she  was  old  enough  to  participate  ,  ariel  has  been  doing  pageants.  her  mother  thought  that  it  was  a  good  idea  for  her  to  follow  in  her  footsteps  &  continue  her  legacy.  of  course  ,  ariel  didn’t  really  have  a  choice  &  went  along  with  it.  being  that  ariel  is  who  she  is  ,  she  loved  the  attention  that  came  with  doing  these  pageants.  it  fueled  her  already  ginormous  head.  she  has  had  a  pretty  successful  career  so  far  ,  winning  miss teenage canada  two  times  in  a  row. 

FASHION  :  fashion  has  always  been  something  that  ariel  has  admired.  at  a  young  age  she  would  be  in  awe  as  she  looked  through  the  various  magazines  she  collected.  she  started  drawing  &  designing  in  middle  school  &  hasn’t  stopped  since.  fashion  &  style  have  always  been  her  niche  &  she  just  loves  every  aspect  of  creating  &  putting  pieces  together.  she  hopes  that  one  day  she  could  have  her  own  fashion  house  or  at  least  intern  &  work  for  one  of  her  favorite  designers  ,  elie  saab  (  jean  paul  gaultier  being  second  )

SCHOOL   :   because  ariel  has  been  trained  to  be  nothing  shy  of  perfect  by  her  parents  ,  school  has  always  been  very  important  to  her.  many  things  come  easy  to  her  because  of  her  mother’s  rigorous  courses  she  used  to  force  ariel  to  do  at  home  when  she  was  younger.  she  would  even  pull  her  out  of  school  early  because  she  used  to  deem  the  public  school  system  as  wasting  ariel’s  time  so  that  she  could  practice  more  for  her  pageants.  regardless  ,  if  she  wasn’t  bringing  home  all  a’s  it  was  going  to  be  a  huge  problem  in  the  jung  household.  so  ,  ariel  always  makes  sure  her  grades  are  top notch.

𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚  !

QUICK-TEMPERED   :   although  she  has  tried  to  work  on  her  temper  ,  it  has  been  a  very  rocky  journey.  a  lot  of  things  irritate  her  &  she  reacts  without  thinking  things  all  the  way  through.  any  little  thing  can  set  her  off  &  she  usually  starts  with  words  to  hurt  people  because  she  knows  they  can  cut  deep.

HONEST   :   ariel  just  does  not  know  how  to  not  be  honest.  if  you  ask  her  for  her opinion  on  something  ,  she  will  say  exactly  what’s  on  her  mind.  she  sugar  coats  nothing  &  she  expects  the  same  from  others  at  all  times.

FEISTY   :   ariel  has   a  very  sharp  tongue.  she  is  aware  that  some  things  she  says  can  come  off  out  of  pocket  ,  but  doesn’t  really  care.

PRETENTIOUS   :   because  of  her  mother  ,  ariel  has  this  air  around  her  that  she  is  better  than  most  people.  she  will  let  it  be  known  that  she  feels  that  way  too.  she  def’  uses  her  looks  ,  money  &  status  to fuel  this belief.

MALICIOUS  :  she  spares  no  feelings  &  will  do  things on  purpose  out  of  spite.

COMPETITIVE  :   she  is  extremely  competitive  in  all  aspects  of  her  life  &  will  always  do whatever  she  needs  to  get  her  way.  she  doesn’t  care  about  who  she  has  to  step  on  to  do  so.

PERFECTIONIST  :  literally  taking  after  her  mother.  everything  has  to  be  perfect  or  she  will  feel  like  something  is  off.  this  is  going  to  develop  into  a  head cannon  soon  ,  i  just  haven’t  figured  it  out  yet.

in  general  ,  i  would  say  that  ariel  is  just  blunt  ,  outspoken  ,  can  come  off  very  rude  ,  but  can  also  be  a  good  friend  when  she  wants.  in  most  cases  she  is  looking  out  for  herself.  if  she  feels  as  though  she  will  not  benefit  from  a relationship  /  friendship  /  situationship  she  will  either  lose  interest  or  not  even  waste  her  time.  if  people  can  deal  with  her  personality  she  is  def’  your  ride  or  die.  if  not  ,  she  just  shrugs  her  shoulders  &  continues  with  her  terrible  behavior.
