𝘐'𝘔 𝘚𝘛𝘐𝘓𝘓 𝘊𝘖𝘓𝘋.

  (   “   you’re  leaving  because  it’s  easier  to  walk  away,  than  to  fight  for  what  you  really   want   “  ).    she  sees  giving  up  as  the  easy  way  out,  until  she  learns  how  hard  it  can  really  be  to  let  go,  to  start  over.  she  is  more  likely,  however,  to  forgive  people  who  betray  her  rather  than  betraying  her  friends  and  family,  in  which  case  she  is  less  inclined  to  offer  her  forgiveness  as  easily.  (  we  do  see  this  scenario  rivaled  in  the  feelings  she  has  when  her  dad  is  found  out  to  be   cheating  on  her  mom,  involving  two  people  she  cared  about  ).

❝      ARIA?       ❞            dulcet      timbre      leaves      a      mellisonant     remedy,      a      saccharine      girl      turned      withering.     a      marcescent     flower:     beauty     remains      but      all      is      hollow     &     dead.      she     relishes     in     silence,     something     unheard     of     for     the     bellwether,     but     something     needed     for     weary     bone      &      weary     mind.     guilt     pangs     /     rumbles     in     her     gut     for     something     long     forgotten.     digits     reach     out,      comb     through      opposite     locks.      they     live     in     moiety,     two     girls     forged     from     tragedy.      ❝      neither      do     i.     about      anything     anymore.     look,     it’s     gonna     be     okay.     you     know     you     can     talk     to     me,     right?      ❞          

she  already  deals  with  constant  games  in  her  life  when  it  comes  to  A,  and  doesn’t  see  room  to  not  be  able  to  trust  the  people  in  her  life.  she  immediately  wants  to  get  to  the  bottom  of  a  situation  when  someone  she  cares  about  is  accused  of  something   (  for  example:  when  the  other  liars  thought  jason  had  been  taking  creepy  photographs  of  aria  and  she  simply  goes  and  confronts  him   ). 

 what  i  do  argue  is  the  idea  of  her  forgiving  him  and  being  so  desperate  for  him  to  be  okay  when  he  is  shot,  after  everything  he  put  her  and  her  friends  and  family  through,  and  all  the  ways  he  lied  to  and  manipulated  her.   when,  in  reality,  only  a  few  episodes  before  that  she  was  destroying  his  apartment  and  tearing  apart  things  he  loved  in  an  act  of  revenge.  she  was  prepared  to  tell  the  whole  world  about  them,  and  only  relented  when  she  was  reminded  of  what  it  would  do  to  her  family  if  the  truth  got  out.  

 despite  everything,  aria  wouldn’t   have  wanted  him  to  die,  she  would  still  be  at  war  with  her  past  love  for  him  and  be  horrified  by  what  she  witnessed.   but  she  simply  would  not  be  at  the  level  of  sobbing  over  him,  pleading  and  begging  for  him  to  be  okay.   she  was  betrayed,  she  felt  that  all  they  had  was  a  lie,  she  would  not  have  been  in  the  mindset  to  hold  those  types  of  emotions  for  him.   

she  was  in  shock  and  very  numb  to  the  situation,  though  still  was  adamant  in  getting  him  help.  but  at  the  end  of  the  day,  he  devastated  her  and  destroyed  everything  she  stands  for  in  any  sort  of  relationship,  she  never  would’ve  been  able  to  trust  him  enough  to  pursue  him  again.  she  visits  him  in  the  hospital  for  answers  about  A’s  identity,  but  she  does  not  speak  to  him  after  this  and  stands  by  her  request  for  him  to  leave  town.    (    “  he’s  safe  and  he’s  alive,  but  i’m  done  “   ).

alison  was  their  best  friend  at  some  times,  worst  enemy  at  others.  not  really  knowing  who  she  was  and  struggling  to  transcend  her  identity,   but  scared  of  acceptance  at  the  time,   aria  got  the  pink  streaks  only  with  alison’s  approval.  ella  and  byron    (  who  she  always  calls  by  their  first  names   )    were  easy,  she  knew  they’d  say  yes,  and  they  did.

internally,  she  was  facing  not  only  interest  in  the  hairstyle,  but  the  pretty  girl  sporting  them.  so  when  alison  could  be  heard  saying  ‘  hello?  earth  to  aria?  ,‘   she  quickly  expressing  interest  in  the  hairstyle  as  her  cover.    ‘   you’d  look  so  much  better  than  her,   there  isn’t  enough   hair  -   dye  in  the  world  to  hide  that  forehead.   ‘

aria  stared  down  at  her  plate  for  the  next  hour,  face  flushed.
