A nearby siren named Ember watched Natalia’s final moments and was called over by the Grim Reaper. She knew the child had no chance living along side death, so she promised to raise the baby as her own. With a short goodbye and the gift of Natalia’s necklace  the Grim Reaper left his only child to be raised by the sea. It was love at first sight for Ember, she blessed the baby with a fin and named her Persephone, daughter to the Angel of Death.
