im not moved by the "i know vegans are right i just like the taste" crowd. to know you participate in cruelty and continue just because of something so frivolous is disturbing
lmaooo people know they're wrong when they post vegan hate and turn off replies/comments
Vegans as a whole forgot one very important detail: I have never even casually researched this topic in my life and have no interest in learning anything about it from someone who has.
#reblogs off because vegans may genuinely share any one of the hundreds of peer reviewed papers proving that I am wrong
billie eilish says you canβt love animals and eat meat at the same time (and sheβs right) and there are thousands of comments sayin sheβs rich and she canβt tell people what to do and ohh itβs so easy for her. yeah it can be easier for her but when itβs a black poor vegan saying they are vegan bc they care about something bigger than them you also donβt listen. you donβt care. you just create excuses because you wanna keep harming and killing animals for your own good. instead of hating on billie you should look in the mirror.
Literally, if someone with any form of privilege is vegan then it's all about how easy it is for them to say/do that. But if someone without it says they're vegan....crickets.
(Also half the time people saying this stuff are perfectly capable of eating vegan but just don't want to. I'd have more respect if they just said that.)
"Yes, I am a leftist who believes in science and doesn't think people shouldn't be exploited, also I love the planet and we need to stop climate change because we need a habitable planet, and so do the animals."
*someone brings up veganism*
"nooooo! plant farming kills bugs!!! you won't be able to rid the world from all death so we shouldn't stop very obvious exploitation!!!"

Ya'll know you don't have to wear pleather OR leather, right? Like, plastic and skin aren't the only options.
Like there's these cool things called plants that can be made into clothes and food and are more environmentally friendly than both!
some of the tags on my vegan leftist post sure are something
anyway tag yourself i'm girl it's plastic
#anyway my personal beef with veganism is this thing that they don't even believe but the internet has told me they do
#I eat cheeseburgers because it isn't possible to care about animals and brown people at the same time
#I support animal rights vehemently but not their right to be alive
Honestly how are you guys not walking around in a constant state of embarrassment...?
more leftists should be vegan. veganism and leftism operate on the same beliefs. social justice, no exploitation of labor, autonomy, environmental concern, intersectionality, an equal and just living etc. leftist praxis should include veganism
Itβs so annoying how vegans canβt even talk about what they believe without it being seen as pushing veganism onto someone. Like, so many nonvegans act like talking about veganism is the same as verbally abusing them into it
The label that changes everything

Whenever I read "I don't take vegans seriously because X" I'm forced to roll my eyes. You don't take us seriously because you don't want to, and you don't want to because making any kind of lifestyle change in the name of your beliefs is seen as too much effort these days.
Sometimes people say things to me like "I would go vegan but I love cheese too much." Ok, then go vegan except for cheese. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Don't call yourself vegan but incorporating vegan food into your lifestyle is far better for the animals and environment than doing nothing at all. Even doing meatless Mondays is a good place to start. Do I wish the entire world was vegan? Of course I do, but I know it's not practical. Sometimes you have to do whatever the best thing you can do is. If that means eating vegan food at home and whatever you want when you're out with family/friends so be it.
it's never too late to go vegan btw :)
If meat is only ethical when it's hunted by indigenous people then only eat meat when it's hunted by indigenous people.
If meat is only ethical when you have to eat it because you're poor or have a disability that makes you need to eat it then don't eat it if you aren't in extreme poverty or have one of those disabilities.
If meat is only ethical when you buy it from your local farmer who kills their cows without them feeling pain and also only kills them when they're old and lets them live their full lives and practices regenerative farming and has a negative carbon footprint then don't buy any meat besides that.
It's weird how I don't see anyone defending eating meat using these scenarios actually doing any of the things I just described.
by the way the fact that "youre treating me like a child/animal" arre synonymous to "youre treating me badly" really shows how we as a societyy treat animals and minors.

All the reasons you hate the impact of the AI industry are all the same reasons you should hate the animal ag industry. It's destructive to local habitats and ecosystems, it's dependent on environmental racism, and it's predicated on a violation of consent.
How are local dirt lots full of dairy cows, or local warehouses full of thousands of pigs or tens of thousands of chickens more ethical than ones further away?
How are local industrial livestock farms more ethical than local data centers?
Being vegan genuinely takes way less effort and emotional energy than continuing to justify to yourself why you can't/don't have to go vegan and getting mad at vegans for *checks notes* having strongly held ethical convictions and living by them. Speaking from experience.
