im not moved by the "i know vegans are right i just like the taste" crowd. to know you participate in cruelty and continue just because of something so frivolous is disturbing

billie eilish says you can’t love animals and eat meat at the same time (and she’s right) and there are thousands of comments sayin she’s rich and she can’t tell people what to do and ohh it’s so easy for her. yeah it can be easier for her but when it’s a black poor vegan saying they are vegan bc they care about something bigger than them you also don’t listen. you don’t care. you just create excuses because you wanna keep harming and killing animals for your own good. instead of hating on billie you should look in the mirror.

more leftists should be vegan. veganism and leftism operate on the same beliefs. social justice, no exploitation of labor, autonomy, environmental concern, intersectionality, an equal and just living etc. leftist praxis should include veganism

It’s so annoying how vegans can’t even talk about what they believe without it being seen as pushing veganism onto someone. Like, so many nonvegans act like talking about veganism is the same as verbally abusing them into it

Whenever I read "I don't take vegans seriously because X" I'm forced to roll my eyes. You don't take us seriously because you don't want to, and you don't want to because making any kind of lifestyle change in the name of your beliefs is seen as too much effort these days.

Sometimes people say things to me like "I would go vegan but I love cheese too much." Ok, then go vegan except for cheese. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Don't call yourself vegan but incorporating vegan food into your lifestyle is far better for the animals and environment than doing nothing at all. Even doing meatless Mondays is a good place to start. Do I wish the entire world was vegan? Of course I do, but I know it's not practical. Sometimes you have to do whatever the best thing you can do is. If that means eating vegan food at home and whatever you want when you're out with family/friends so be it.

by the way the fact that "youre treating me like a child/animal" arre synonymous to "youre treating me badly" really shows how we as a societyy treat animals and minors.

All the reasons you hate the impact of the AI industry are all the same reasons you should hate the animal ag industry. It's destructive to local habitats and ecosystems, it's dependent on environmental racism, and it's predicated on a violation of consent.

Being vegan genuinely takes way less effort and emotional energy than continuing to justify to yourself why you can't/don't have to go vegan and getting mad at vegans for *checks notes* having strongly held ethical convictions and living by them. Speaking from experience.
