Apollo looked up at the large buffer man. He made the god of the sun look like a scrawny mortal. Apollo reached up his right hand and scratched behind his head. War? Uuhh, he knew not much about it, was in a few, didnt care for them. He just liked playing music. “Ph yeah! I heard about that event, yeah.. was a real dosey, mmhm!” Nodding his head he kept his gaze up on the war god. “Oh… Oh of course Ares, After all I am the god of music.”
A wiggle and a wave from his hands, they shone with a golden light, as his lyre came into his hands. “Alrightie chap, lets get some tunes goin but first I have a joke for you.” Aeres was hard to please, but he liked to be treated like he was the best. “Hephaestus.” thats it. THAT WAS THE JOKE. Apollo then strumed some playful notes for the other god. “Alright, so about that war tune. Any request on what key?”
Upon hearing Apollo's jab at Hephaestus, Ares bellowed. "Oh, what a grand joke!" He slapped the other god on the back to show his appreciation. "Indeed, he is a joke. You have lifted my spirits, Apollo! I shall turn a blind eye to your previous misdeed."
After his laughter subsided, he gave Apollo a less forceful pat on the back. "I care not for the key your melody is played in, so long as it is a splendid battlefield overture of some sort!"
"And they would have lined up, to feel your blade tear through their flesh — God invulnerability and strength do not mean anything in comparison to your’s." Her eyes open, still full of her admiration and infatuation, as Ares speaks of the results of their union and potential conquest. "My beauty is feared, because it would’ve caused wars and disaster to rage across the Heavens. Wars for my favor, though it has already been earned."
To feel his brief touch only caused her to give another content sigh, murmuring her affections for the God to behold her in all of her tenderness. To be the target of his affections, that was a true blessing — though he is the spirit of war, he loves just as hard as the essence of love herself does. As he proposes his question, she seems to pause for a moment, as if thinking over her answer. Why doesn’t she? “I am not entirely sure, Ares. I do not believe it to be my place, to rule upon our father’s throne, even with you at my side. I do not believe myself to be able to conquer the Heavens; we are not too well-loved, and most of our children even less so. Furthermore, I fear our father’s strength, I believe him to be greater than I, in strength and in wisdom.”
"I believe such a wish is to remain only that: a wish. Though, I will not hesitate in standing by your side should you wage war on the Heavens, even if I believe it to be folly."
"No, you are right. No good would come out of ruling over Olympus." His eyes scan over her once more, taking in every detail upon her fair face. Her lashes, so long and plentiful. Her eyes stained such a deep blue hue, one would think Poseidon's domain lie behind her very eyelids. Her lips, so soft and full. Oh! If there was anything that made him feel inadequate, it was those very lips as he lay his own upon them. Where hers were softer than silk, his were chafe--drier than the deserts belonging to those who felled his dear Spartans.
"If you were to rule Olympus, the mortals would curse you for every mishap in their minuscule lives. The ignorant fools! Do they truly think so highly of themselves, they believe the gods watch over their every move? Why, the other day a soldier was marching home and tripped on a rock. Instead of brushing himself off and continuing on his way, he slammed a fist on the ground and cursed Zeus for putting the pebble in his way. Bah! The imbeciles do not take responsibility for their own actions; they blame the gods instead." He reached for the goddess' hand and brought it to his lips, planting a brief kiss upon her knuckles. "If you were to take father's place, they would curse your beautiful being instead. And if they did, I would cut them down with such malevolence, Hades' abode would spill onto Gaia herself."

"Oh.. Ares! Hey chap how ya doin, haha…haha.. Wars goin great and all huh?" Apollo sheepishly said as he glanced around. Did he see him flirting with his wife? But why did it matter? Every one did it, oh gosh. "Say man, care for a tune or two? We could kick back for a little."
Ares stands with his arms crossed; a stern expression upon his features. "The wars are proceeding as planned, just as they always do. However, there was an unplanned event that happened to occur while I was away. I am sure you know if it; I need not waste my breath on relaying the matter." Suddenly Ares drops his arms from their crossed position. He places a hand upon Apollo's shoulder and smiles. "But yes, I would enjoy a fine battle tune. Do not disappoint me."
"Ares, how have you been? I have not seen you upon Mount Olympus for some time. Fighting old battles again?" The God of the sea would say casually "I must say, there are many a soldier that have drown in my waters because of wars caused by you, and you have my thanks for feeding some of my creatures."
"Ah, if it isn’t the great trident wielder! Indeed, I have not been to Olympus, for I have been preoccupied with small wars between factions outside of Greece. I do not mind in the least, however! The scent and taste of blood have always been far more pleasing than ambrosia.
It brings me great joy that my wars have also given back to the great gods! I hope the kraken hasn’t gotten hold of any of the soldiers. If it were to be released, imagine the battle that would take place! Although truth be told, it would be a grand battle. Yes, perhaps you should release the kraken.”
"I see.. As for my krakens, I do not release them for the mere battle that would ensue, I release them to smite those I deem unworthy of life.. No mere mortal could hope to survive such an encounted, and few demigods have tried."
"'Tis a shame you do not! The battle that would ensue would be glorious! Hades would receive a great many souls to add to his domain, and those that perish with honor will be granted access to Elysium! Oh, imagine the prayers and rituals that would come of it, dear uncle, if you released the beast and labelled the act as unintentional."

Grinning at his laughter, she continues to look up at him in complete admiration, pleased at his enjoyment. “And with Hades they will remain! I am sure many will join them; after all, who can turn down a woman of my beauty?”
As Ares’ hand raises to her cheek, she leans into it, her eyes closing as her lips curl into a smile. A hand raises to cover his own — though his skin scarred and calloused, it was still the familiar touch of her lover. She gives a content sigh, before speaking, “I am sure if I had been given to you, you would’ve torn down all those who dared oppose to our union — I doubt anyone would even want to, however. Who would want to face off against the God of War himself in combat? That title was not given to you; it was earned — just as I have been.”
A small smile reached the god's face. "I would have cut them down like cattle to the slaughter, yes. Father's decision still baffles me. What would he gain from giving you to Hephaestus? Did he fear your beauty? If you were to bear a child from a handsome god, perhaps the child would outshine Zeus himself?" Ares scoffed at the thought. "Father was a fool if he believed that for one second you would settle for that revolting god. Look at what we have created, my dear! The ever so lovely Eros, who is able to capture the hearts of whomever he pleases! Why, with the help of Eros, you could usurp Olympus entirely if you so pleased!"
As he spoke, a stray strand of hair had fallen onto Aphrodite's countenance. Ares lifted a hand ever so slowly and tucked it behind her ear. He was a bloodthirsty warmonger, but when he loved, oh, did he love. He had fathered children that did not belong to the goddess before him, but he did not love their mothers. No, he did not love anything quite like Aphrodite. Not even war could compete for his affection when paired up against the goddess of beauty. "So why don't you?"
She huffs, arms still folded under her breasts. “I suppose that is so. I may as well be grateful that your greed is me — why, you’ve strangled men just for so much as glancing at me. I could not be more grateful, to be loved by such a God!”
She only giggles once more, a hand raising to cover her mouth. “I would prefer not to be ensnared once more, nor for our uncle to intercept; though, I would not mind what caused us to be so. I do not have time for that crippled git; do you remember how, during the Trojan War, I’d find my way to you as he slaved away at his forge? Our heat alone could have fueled his bellows for centuries.”
Ares howls with laughter at the memory of the idiotic mortals. "They deserved such punishment! How pathetic, to be sent to the realm of Hades all because they did not know their place!"
At the mention of their adultery, however, his laughter ceases. He brings a hand up to cup her cheek; ever perceptive of the vast contrast between the texture of their skin. His rough, hardened and scarred by battle, hers smooth, kissed only by the richest of oils. "Father truly was a fool, to give you to that ignorant blacksmith. Where he relishes in the bends and metals of swords, I relish in the dips and curves of your physique. Why give grandeur to a blind man?!"

A smirk cracks Ares’ countenance. “Perhaps you should bear me another one, and I shall think about ridding the Minotaur.”
"Oh, please! Is five not enough for you?! You are always the same - greed, greed, and more greed! I will not bear you another, if it will only be over your disposal of a Minotaur."

She sniffles, folding her arms under her breasts. “Hmph! Fine! I bear you four divine sons and a daughter, and you refuse to do something as trivial as chasing away a Minotaur!”

You see a being floating in mid-air surrounded by a veil of darkness, it turns to face you with its terrifying masked-visage, “What business do you have here, Ares? I was unchained by thee ages ago, though you possess my gratitude - I cannot offer much.” It finished and then continued with a sadistic undertone, "Unless, you wish for a grand-end befitting for a god?" If the being before you could smile, it would induce endless terror alone unto mere mortals.
Ares' eyebrows knit together--a sudden surge of rage spread throughout him at the thought of being damned to the underworld. "Do not jest about trapping me in this desolate place, Thanatos. I belong on the blood soaked plains where the clash of steel and the shouts of men are all that can be heard; not here where the pitiful weeping of the dead is constant! Such an environment is not fit for a great being such as I." He scans the surrounding area, taking in the wisp-like figures of the deceased. "Speaking of an unfit environment, I am here to ensure that you have sent the heroes to Elysium. They have achieved glory and the gods have recognized their feats; mortals that are in the gods' favor do not deserve to rot away in Hades' filthy abode."
The woman is quick to take her position by the God of War’s side, a hand placed upon his pauldron in attempts to comfort him in his rage. “The most beautiful woman in all of Greece and certainly all of here, yet they do not acknowledge such a fact!” she further laments, her other wrist raising once more to her forehead. “We must not burn the mortals, despite their incompetence — they are only mortals, after all — we require worshipers, to further our strength, do we not? I have attempted conversion, yet they do not believe in my abilities!”
"Do they not see the beauty that surrounds them, and the love they feel for one another? That is all gifts from me, yet they take it for granted! The glory they feel in combat, the invigorating feeling of a sword in hand — all your’s, yet thought as nothing!”
Ares scoffed. The foolish mortals, so tiny in existence...how dare they take what the gods give them for granted! He exhaled deeply through his nostrils. "If we cannot eradicate their putrid species, then we will watch as they perform the task themselves."
A grin cracks across his countenance as he brings a hand to cup the one on his pauldron. "Yes, the imbeciles will wage war against one another and destroy themselves with no intervention on our part. And they will pray to the gods for help, no doubt. Do you see the beauty of this, my dear? They will be swallowed by the embers of war and we shall receive the recognition and worship we deserve!"

"Ares! Oh, my beloved! About time you have come to save me from these dreadful and sacrilegious heathens! They have been nothing but wrongfully bitter and cruel to me!" She melodramatically raises her wrist over her forehead, giving a gasp, as if ready to faint and collapse to the ground.
"The FOOLS! I have chosen but the most beautiful goddess as my lover, and they DARE desecrate her status? Fetch a fire from our crippled brother; I shall burn half of their lands to a crisp. The mortals shall regret Prometheus's gift, for it will engulf them like a sea! We are the great Olympian gods and deserve to be treated as such! What say you, my dear?"
