Herakles (Hercules) and Dionysus are often associated. One myth tells of Dionysus and Herakles having an all-night drinking contest, although Herakles kept up, he fell asleep just before sunrise. For losing Herakles joined the troop of Dionysus and travelled with the god for a time, giving rise to popular motives of drunken Herakles in art. Like Dionysus, Herakles was born from Zeus and a mortal woman and constantly tormented by Hera and sent insane. This results in the death of his wife and children, a crime that can only be redeemed through the Twelve labours. During the difficult labours he ventured the world, engaging in many love affairs with women and men and siring a generation of kings. Eventually, Herakles was poisoned, which made his flesh melt from his body, in agony he built his own funeral pyre and killed himself. Hercules placed a hand on his hip. "Please! Call me Hercules! Rome's name for me has such a better ring, and the worshippers are much more adamant!" He nodded rapidly. "And Mercury begge- Oh! Oh. Ohhhh. You want me to carry your collection of outfits? Legends speak of its gigantic size! Mercury always has been a bit hotheaded! I am not surprised he wants to try and move it for you!"

(( I chose Hercules due to him being an easily memorable and well known character in mythology. I felt it would be the easiest to inspire a Smite community with, and well, how can you hate such a generic good guy character type?

Plus he isn't entirely popular!))
