Chapter 24; Glamorous Tricks and Trickery Morgana uses a glamour mask to sneak into Dwoza. Elsewhere in a different time and place, Bellroc awakes to find themself in Nari's body with no memory of how this happened, but this is less important than simply trying to survive.

Morgana stood awkwardly as Blörbo sniffed the late evening air, touching at the glamour mask uncomfortably with her hand. She had never been so deep into the wild wood, nor so north, and there was a bite in the air that promised the season’s time was coming to an end.

“I’m not so sure about this,” Morgana said, glancing at her appropriated trollish body.

“You look perfectly fine in jade, more than fine really,” Blörbo replied. “And you should be grateful I already had the parts necessary for the glamour mask to work.”

“I do not speak of my appearance,” Morgana said.

Blörbo gave her a cursory sniff. “You smell perfectly trollish to me,” they insisted. “Now hush, you made it past Tombro, nobody suspected a thing. Allow me to lead and we’ll be in and out like we own the place.”

There was a deep rumbling and groaning of trees, and a large troll approached them from behind, giving Blörbo a friendly nod when their paths crossed. She was made of a dark greenstone and at least the height and breadth of Kreta. “Evening, Börta the Restless,” she said, and then gave Morgana a sniff. “Who is your friend?”

“Ah - ha, Otäkk the Bountiful, it has been so long,” Blörbo chuckled. “This is Mög the Mug, I’ve come to show her the big city.”

Otäkk gave a deep, breathy chortle. “The big city.”

“Hey,” Blörbo said. “It’ll be the biggest Mög’s ever seen.”

Chapter 21; Searching for Answers Something calls out to the Arcane Order luring them to the ruins, but Morgana still has her head full of rocks.

Water lapped lazily upon the black stone, polished smooth from the countless years of wear. The clouds above were thick and grey, the smell of rain a lingering promise upon the air.

Bellroc crouched patiently, staff in hand, waiting to see what called to them and why. Magic crackled around them, ancient and strange. It filled them with a deep sense of loss and longing, as though they had been cut off from everyone who ever lived or would go onto live.

Nari appeared by their side with a suspicious frown, pursing her lips as she seemed to consider much the same questions as had drawn Bellroc to the place. She closed her eyes, their own magic pulsing, beating as a heartbeat for the world. They opened their eyes, looking very old and tired, gaze drawn around them in a circle as though she could not place who called to them but knew to her core they were not alone.

Skrael was the last to join them, the flurry of ice settling upon the black water before being swallow by the depths. They inclined their head, hand outstretched, as their frost caught on shapes unseen above the water. There was no doubt in their minds that the spectre that evaded them had called them to the ruins as one.

“Your games are not appreciated,” Skrael said to the unseen spectre.

“How… like you to take this as play,” a voice replied, different than the one that had called out to Bellroc.

“We do not… play,” the voice replied, strangely familiar in comparison to the other.

“Come now,” said a third voice. “We will not hurt you.”

“Unless you deserve it,” the first voice insisted, almost chortling hoarsely.

hellooo, tales of arcadia community...!

it's hard to believe it's already halloween, which means ordershipping week 2022 is coming to a close. but it already looks like our first year was a resounding success! for such a tiny corner of the fandom, we saw some really incredible turnout; i for one am well pleased to see such excitement over our niche side blorbos (o´〰`o)
