❝ your fans definitely won't be pleased .. well, with me, at least. ❞ defeating a fan favorite, and being the one to send him spiraling wasn't a good way to earn favor of the crowd, not that she really cared what they thought. her mission remained the same, and she was unwavering in her efforts.
this was meant to be entertainment. at least, on the fighters' part, but she knew in some cases that it was so much more than that. her voice had simmered to something more quiet, as if she was too exhausted to be frustrated for too long. adrenaline from battle always pushed her forward, but there was always exhaustion settling deep -- often times more mental than physical.

ㅤlucky... that's one word for it. if one could consider being paraded around like fresh meat to be ogled, meant to cater to the masses, all whilst existing solely under the omnipresent weight of an influential thumb... then yes. he is lucky. but if one were to take into account that his very life depended on his performance in the arcadion, the scales might tilt a little. taking into consideration that his mental state deteriorates with each passing day might send them and their now ill - distributed weight toppling over.

ㅤhe cannot possibly describe what it's like. how it feels to have your own brain, your own body, betray you. the pain is like nothing he's ever known, even after years of being forced into combat, countless kill or be killed situations, and fighting tooth and nail to emerge victorious. static, pitched high and tinny, scraping at the inside of your skull. an ache so great it feels as though your head might simply split open, so intense that you scramble for the nearest wall in the hopes that bashing your head against it might somehow ease your agony. and that is when he wins.

"have they no manners, to stare at a stranger so.." it's spoken more to herself than him or any other surrounding elezen or otherwise wandering the pillars of foundation. finally after a few uncomfortable moments, naoh huffs. she's had enough. it had been frustrating enough when vamp fatale had been rather forward with rhys in the past. she knew well how to dig under naoh's skin. ( ' oh, look at you. its so entertaining when you're all worked up. ', she remembers vamp saying directly to her, all subtlety cast aside. ) naoh clears her throat and her bright blue eyes blink up at him, "I'm cold. Perhaps we visit the forgotten knight? A drink would do well for my nerves." / @rendlight
ㅤwhat little time he's spent in foundation has not particularly endeared him to the city, its frigid temperatures matching that of its snobbish residents, its towering architecture cold and unwelcoming. despite his captivity, he has always felt more closely attuned to nature and trees, and there is very little to be found even peeking out from beneath its cobblestone streets.
ㅤnaoh, on the other hand, looks right at home. or... did. her normal confidence has seemingly evaporated, carried up and dissolved into the air with each visible plume of breath that escapes her lips — the most recent accompanying a frustrated, decisive huff of what he discerns to be annoyance that earns a tilt of his head.

OH GOD NOT YOU TOO. why do y'all torment me so. i copped out on brandy's answer; i can't do it twice. or can i? nah, i won't. uuhhmmm... not so much to say here but i've been doing more writing over on @betrayale in weeks than i've done in years, and i wanna thank y'all who've been plotting and writing with her and indulging the 'tism that made me obsessed with a character with 15 minutes of screentime over a decade ago and again recently. i've been more inspired by these dynamics and plotlines than anything i can recall in a long time. so thank you for helping me enjoy my blog.
