I made a Nen Master the other day. I couldn’t think of any good names and just hit random keys, so the poor guy’s name is Wdpofi. I don’t know if he’ll ever actually make it in the story, but I’m sure having fun drawing him!

Honestly, I hadn’t thought of it! I think Nel’s dabbled in potion making to help keep her stupid boys alive, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Arren became an Animator and made some cute little party mascot or something. 

Story time! Because the middle of a spooky forest is the perfect place for that. XD

Wandering the Abyss. Just a quick scribble.

This piece is a combination celebration and mourning. DFO is back! In beta, anyway. We’re all very excited and I know at least Kess and I participated in the alpha test so that we could reclaim our character names. Unfortunately, as any DFO fans are probably already aware, the western server is having some MAJOR issues today. Kess and I have been trying to log in all afternoon. It’s incredibly difficult to establish a connection, and when we do, our characters aren’t there like they were supposed to be! A lot of other players are having this problem too, though, and I’m sure the lovely folks at Neople are working very hard to have it resolved as soon as possible. Until then, we keep trying and hope that our characters return from the digital abyss!

Komie’s Journal:

Today after I fought with my parents I decided to go to Lorien Hollow to hone my swordsman skills with the sword I just got for my tenth birthday. I thought the hollow was empty except for trees to hit when I suddenly got attacked by a clan of goblins! They were mean and green and stank like heck! I tried throwing a rock but that only knocked down the goblin and made it angrier. The goblin I threw a rock at picked up the same rock and tossed it back at me, which knocked me down. In hindsight it wasn’t a great idea now that I have a great big lump on my head. I tried a couple of sword swings which did a little more damage to the goblin. They still were a lot stronger than me though. When I thought I was a goner, a big streak of fire swooped in and burned the goblins but not me for some reason. When the smoke cleared a little puppy with a “mane” of fire was in the middle of a bunch of ashes. That pup I named Sir Perfluous, Perf for short. I tried to hug him but backed away and shook his head. I had then realized that Perf had a small mane actually made of fire and he didn’t want me to get hurt anymore than I already was. So I just stayed for a while and petted his head then went back home with Perf at my heels. My parents fussed over because of all my scrapes and really small burns when Perf first popped up. Thankfully they let me keep him so long as I take care of him.  Years past  and my bond with Perf grew even stronger after that cursed night when I was forced out of my village when Kazan took my arm.

Amiacon’s Addendum

I was walking through Lorien's trees,

Minding my own wax of bees,

When suddenly a goblin clan

Appeared and attacked me.

  Then I heard a vicious howl,

And there emerged a canine fanged of jowl.

Sir Perfluous came and saved the day;

Amiacon here again! Every once in a while, I feel the need to think of something to keep this sad blog going. I started thinking about it a while ago, and since I don't figure this will ever go into the actual story, it doesn't count as a spoiler.

“Hey, E,” Nel said, sidling up to the Berserker. “We’ve all liked working with you, and I think it’s a little strange that we know so little about you. Would you mind telling us some  about your life?”

“My life?” Eromreven repeated, suddenly dour. “It was shit, an’ that’s all you needta know,” he mumbled into his drink. “My story’s a real drag. I don’ need you kids feelin’ sorry for me.”

“Oh.” The dark elf decided it would be best to leave the gloomy man alone and slowly walked away.

Over the next few days, all of the kids asked about Eromreven’s past. Multiple times. He got the feeling they were teaming up to make him spill.

They were just leaving Sky Tower when the question was posed for the last time.

“You wanna know about me so fuckin’ bad!?” he exploded. “FINE! I’ll tell you the whole fuckin’ shitload I’ve been through!” Breathing heavily, he jumped the remaining steps and began to pace, forcing himself to calm down before beginning the tale. The others watched him nervously and wondered if maybe this had been a bad idea. Eromreven had hinted at a rough past before, but none of them had guessed that his reaction would be so extreme.

“I… I had a family,” he started. It sounded as if he needed to remind himself of the fact. “A mom ‘n’ a dad. A little sister, Becca.” His voice quavered, but he pushed on. “My folks ran a library. I don’ remember where I’m from, t’be honest, but we weren’t bad off and people liked ‘em. We… were happy.

“Then, one night, this –“ he held out his demon arm – “happened. I was just a kid, maybe eight, when Kazan’s curse first started goin’ ‘round. I woke up in the night feelin’ like I’d stuck my hand in a fire, an’ then I don’t remember shit until the next mornin’.

“I woke up outside. We had this dog, too, a big scrappy bastard. Damn good watchdog. He was lyin’ next to me, head torn off, chest ripped open. Don’ even think he had a chance to bark. I was about shittin’ myself. Somethin’ had come by and tore up this dog that was bigger’n I was. Ran inside, hollerin’ for my folks. Nobody answered, an’ I found both of ‘em… and Becca… torn ta bits. I ripped out of the house fast as I could, shoutin’ for help, but everybody ran from me, yellin’ too. Then I realized I was fuckin’ covered in blood.

“We got a lot of high-up mages ‘n’ scholars in ’n’ out of the library. Some of ‘em who were doin’ research for the king, I reckon, brought me in to study why a local kid suddenly had white hair – it used to be… brown – an’ a red hand. Then reports started comin’ in about the demon curse, an’ these old bastards chained me up. Well guess what?” He fixed them with a hard stare, challenging his party members one by one to meet his eyes. “I killed them too. This time, it was on fuckin’ purpose.”

Once again, Eromreven held the demon arm up, displaying the horizontal slashes across his forearm. “These scars ain’t from a fight. I tried to cut the damn thing off. Better no arm than bein’ part demon, right? These’re the only cuts the bastard hasn’t healed.

“So there I was, just a kid, cursed an’ nowhere ta go. I grew up on the run, always an outcast. Yeah, I tried to find somewhere an’ maybe even honest work at first, but nobody’d take a dangerous freak like me. So fer a while, it was highway robbery. No kid should hafta be a damn brigand. When I finally got to Hendon Myre an’ met GSD, it was too late. He taught me a lot, but I’d already seen too fuckin’ much hate an’ convinced myself that bein’ a Berserker was the only way to make it in the world. Turns out I was a real shithead.”

'Tis still the season, right? Felt like doing something since this page hasn't done much but gather dust yet, but I also didn't feel like expending much effort. This was about half an hour. n_n'

We interrupt your irregularly scheduled insanity to bring you different insanity! Okay, it's not really that crazy...

I recently got the other two playing an MMO (another Nexon product, so it's sort of relevant to a DFO blog...) that I have enjoyed and played with depressing infrequency for years, Maplestory! This is a real conversation that occurred between Ze Awesome Prussia and myself concerning monster drops, featuring her Battle Mage Rebmahc and my Hunter Kojino.
