She had to smirk at that. Too proud, too honourable. It was restrictive and it just made it harder to make those life saving choices. So many would rather go down knowing they had no chance just because they were too proud to run. If you survived, what the hell did it matter if you were honourable or not? Being virtuous amongst so many who were not was surely to lead to one’s downfall.

“That’s true– it would… be the honourable thing to either attempt to deal with me yourself or to report back to your superiors so they might send someone else after me.” Kazuki nodded her head slowly in understanding, though the word honourable evoked a smirk from her. Honour. What a ridiculous concept.

Aracelis was indeed alarmed by the presence of the unfamiliar woman. She couldn’t recall encountering her before, and she certainly wasn’t an arrancar. The puzzling thing, though, was the lingering feeling of being threatened.

There wasn’t much of a reason to feel threatened, Aracelis rationalized. In fact, it seemed as if the woman hadn’t even noticed her presence yet. Or perhaps she had and Aracelis was just full of herself. Nevertheless, the feeling of danger remained; prompting Aracelis to go forward with the only reasonable option. Confrontation.

She stepped into the woman’s line of sight. “Who are you and what are you doing here?”

“My name is Kazuki Ryūnosuke and I’m a Quincy. I’m here as Hueco Mundo will be ours before long. You would do best to submit without fighting if you wish to survive.”

That was not her personal job, however. She was simply scouting the area and setting things up for the invasion. It was not her job to kill Arrancar.
