Arab Daddy

I bought this map to mark where I’ve been, but it actually works with dry-erase markers! Best 80 cent purchase.

I went to Harbin earlier this week with my friend, but from here on out, I’m flying solo. (Or rather, taking a train solo.) Luckily, I’ve got some friends in Chengdu, Kunming, Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Dalian.

I fly to Chengdu on January 19 and then kind of float my way across the country until I’m back home on either February 19 or 20, depending on how exciting Tianjin is. Then I sit for a few days and then take a train on over to Dalian to meet my penpal. He’s going to show me around Dalian and then we’re taking a boat over to Qingdao, where I’ll finish up and take a train back to Beijing.

There’s still a billion more places I want to see in China, not all are marked. I was really hoping to make it to Zhangjiajie (floating mountains from Avatar) but they surprisingly have no reliable transportation in/out of the city.

For one reason or another, I still have not been able to fit the terracotta warriors in Xi’an into any of my trips.

Hong Kong and Macau are both very expensive and difficult currently.
