“You must be a superhero then, huh! And well – no. But you can’t breath under water, I’ve tried and almost died. Can you?” He asked, his curiosity fueling his questions. “Sometimes people call their grandpa, pa. And I would call her ma, sometimes mama. It all depended on the circumstance – Yes. I am a shark. A big burly white shark. Wanna see my sharp teeth?” Ace chuckled at the joke, his mouth now pulled open wider to show his molars. “Sharks are moody and impulsive? Are you not confusin’ for teenagers then?” Following behind the girl, Ace kept his attention set on the path in front of them – he knew he’d memorize it soon enough. “Couple of months seems like a while, anyways. Do you like it? I think it is okay, from what I’ve seen. I’m from the countryside. Not far from here, really. Well. Actually it’s probably far, but it’s still in the U.S. What about you?”
“ ... A what? No, no. I don’t think I am a superhero, I’m only a mermaid. Of course I can! After all, the water is my home. Hm ... Funny, the Lost Boys only refer to a mother as ‘mother’; I wonder if they know there are other words for that. Now those are some sharp teeth! ” She exclaims with a genuine laugh. “Yes they are, and I wouldn’t know --- there are not many teenagers where I’m from, only children and very few grown-ups. I do, I like it here very much; it is quite different from my home but it is also amazing. I’ve met some great people here and although I miss my sisters, being away from them is an adventure and well, I love adventures. I’m from Neverland! Second star to the right and straight on til morning. ”
