I have so many thoughts about so many things but like, articulating them in the way I want feels like a huge obstacle and also idk if anyone would even be interested in reading my thoughts and yeah it's good to write for yourself but I would love to know how other people feel so idk. Chewing on a couple things. Like Louis owning some of Lestat's IP. Without his permission. Without his consent which seems to be an ongoing theme in these stories. Just like Louis told his story, without his permission. Louis actively choosing to involve himself in Lestat's life even though they're not together which is romantic but also making money off his IP which is informed by his trauma?
That's awful. And Lestat being there to perform, to be consumed. He's not even a person, he's literally a product, an experience (see Christine telling him to fuck someone). He's always performing, always putting on a show. Who even is Lestat? And he's ok with that if he earns validation and attention and praise and love. He wants love. Even if it's not real. Even if it's transactional. Lelio, consumed by Magnus. His story, consumed by Louis and the public. His blood, consumed by Gabriella as a substitute for sex because Lestat set one boundary and she has to push it. Always giving, people always taking. No respect for his autonomy or his actual feelings. Idk. Lots to think about.
