Oh boy was she mad?

He blinked for a couple of seconds when she pulled him to be on the same eye level as her. Still his smile never left him if anything his only eye soften at her feeling slightly silly at his assumption. “I miss’d ya too.”

And she was still cute.

“Now ya kno’ I am.” A silly grin formed from that smile of his whether or not he was trying to lessen her worries, the Watchdog was just happy to see her. Knowing how she was, she did worried him when he was away. Questioning himself if she was sleeping right, eating or whatever that was keeping her well. At least he knows now. “Mm… nah I’ll see ‘im later. ‘ight now I just wanna spend time with ya.”

Does she though? It’s easy to pretend that any injury they get is nothing. They’ve suffered worse, after all. However, her train of thought went elsewhere as she watched his demeanor change. She opened her mouth to give a sleepy retort, but sometimes, he just had this way about him that still generally confused her.

Because sometimes, feelings were confusing.

And now, he’s being weird. He will do this from time to time and it always left her wondering. The way he’ll smile, how close he’ll be with her, the way he wanted to spend time with her. It made her feel...well, frankly, it made her feel happy. As strange as the idea of being ‘happy’ was, hearing him saying all of this, the tiniest of smiles formed on her lips. “Later? He’ll pout though.”

“Oof!” He visibly cringed in pain– well not in a lot of pain, but he just felt bruised from the mission he was on. Having to kill someone that he was ordered to get rid of, he didn’t expect to to have some difficulty from it. Talk about his bad luck… at least it wasn’t that bad or so he thought. But he smiled at 15 despite how his body felt. “’ey there. Miss’d me?”

Oh how adorable.

He reached over and patted her on the head as he comforted her before he would wrap his arms around the smaller figure to hug. “Ehe was I gone that long?” The subject somehow expected her to act like this, but he didn’t mind it one bit as he had lips touching the top of her head. “Well ’m ‘ere now. Will ya sleep better now?”

There was a pause before the frown grew. She didn’t like that reaction nor did she really like how he played it off. She pulled him closer, her hands moving to where she could cup his face and pull him down more on her level. “Mmm...I missed you.”

Of course, she’d be willing to admit that much. “Maybe but I’d sleep better if I knew you were okay.” Or at least where she didn’t have to worry as much. Some days, it was easier to pretend that what they did didn’t eat away at them. It’s why she needed to sleep, why she needed to be away. “Do you need something? You...” A yawn followed and she closed her eyes, letting his warmth overtake her. “...mmm, you should probably see 11 too.”

He’s barely even back before she’s wrapping her arms around his neck and goes very still. Sleepy but more than anything, she’s glad he’s back. She almost considered falling back asleep but after a few seconds she pulled back, staring up into his eyes. A frown followed and she reached, patting his cheek. There isn’t much to say in regards to what she’s feeling but she does so anyway since it’s him.

It’s soft and quiet in tone, but still said with more affection than she’s used to. “I was worried.” Which, she normally wouldn’t be. He’s always came back he’s always done what he could to survive. That’s what 10 does, he came back. He promised to.

Her eyes lowered before she tilted her head. “I didn’t sleep that well.”
