“there’s nothing wrong with that,” he replies with a shrug. he pulls the brunette close to him, wrapping both arms around her. “i can wait as long as you want me to.” he kisses the top of her head.

     “Y-You can?” She asked, not expecting that answer. She had always gotten a little snicker from the rare person she’d tell that confession to, but the other was taking it like she answered she didn’t know what she wanted for dinner. She wrapped her arms around the other’s neck, and nuzzled close to him. “I mean, it’s not like i’m trying to wait a long time or anything..”

    Ty nodded, “fair enough. We could always go next week. No big deal.” He shrugged his shoulders. He grinned when he told him what he wanted to do for the night, agreeing with a nod of his head. “Sounds good to me. Maybe we’ll find something on Netflix that’s actually scary,” he joked. He took out his phone and looked again to the younger. “What’re you in the mood for? If you want popcorn, I have that.”

       “Maybe, I think the search for something and reading the descriptions of some of them are actually comedy sometimes.” He said, smiling softly in thought as he looked up at the man. “Pizza? Popcorn sounds good too.” He hummed, biting his lower lip.

”But you’re the one who wanted me to make these reservations..” Still, he knew he couldn’t force the other to go if he didn’t feel like it. Truth be told, he wasn’t looking forward to going anyway. “I guess I could always reschedule, though. Does a quick trip to McDonald’s count as going out? Or we could just order takeout.”

     “I know, I’m sorry. It’s just been a long ass week.” He said, feeling a bit guilty, but also not. “I’m just in a sit down and watch scary movies mood.” He said with a soft smile. “Takeout sounds good.” He confirmed the suggestion. “Going out... take out... both have out in the name. So close enough for me.”

     Matt stepped around the counter and wrapped his arms around the man’s waist. “I know, I am sorry, I have never forgotten, but I wanted to make you a cake and I did not know to make a cake for you in a way that you would not notice. So, your coworkers were very nice to agree to taking you out so I could make it. I know it is probably silly, there was better things to do, but I am good with the baking so…” Once Matt realized he was rambling, he cut himself off with a shrug. Jensen never cut him off or told him that he was talking too much, but that didn’t stop the boy from panicking about it a little bit. Most people told him he talked too much or that they didn’t care, and it was difficult for him to forget, even a few years removed from the last time it happened. Still, that wasn’t important now, he had his daddy in his arm and aa huge grin on his face. “I am also going to make you any of the dinner that you are wanting. You just tell me and I do for you. We have the rest of the day to make the best birthday.”

      Honestly hearing the other talk relaxed Jensen, even as he went on about his plan for making the cake while Jensen was out for lunch. Jensen was never one to talk too much these days, so having someone there to fill the silence was fantastic. He let his arms wrap around the smaller, pulling him close for a romantic hug. His lips pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Oh baby boy, any dinner? I’m still so filled from lunch it’s hard to think about food again.” He chuckled and hummed in thought. “Those tacos you made a few weeks back are quite addictive, and I keep thinking about them.” He said, raising a eyebrow.

     Matt had sent some of Jensen’s coworkers to take him out for lunch, so he could make the man a proper birthday cake before the man came home. That morning he hadn’t said happy birthday, pretending he had forgotten so he could surprise the man later. It was about noon, he figured the man should be back anytime and the cake was sitting on the counter waiting for them. Matt made sure to be in his prettiest lingerie with just one of Jensen’s shirt over top. When he heard the door open he leaned on the counter with a smile. When Jensen came into view, his smile widened. “Happy birthday, daddy.”

       Jensen wasn’t having the most astounding birthday. He had woken up and had been picturing the most perfect birthday with Matt, but it seemed the other either forgot, or didn’t care at all. He had gotten a text from a group message of his coworkers telling him they wanted to take him out for lunch at one of his favorite places, and so he accepted. He was a bit gloomy, and after telling them, they suggested just to keep his chin up and maybe casually mention it to his boyfriend. It still hurt a little. So when he got in and started into the kitchen to put away leftovers, he stopped a bit surprised when he saw the other. He was dressed in Jensen’s shirt, with a nice looking birthday cake in front of him. A grin went on his face and he shook his head. “Oh god, I really thought you forgot my birthday. I really did, but damn baby boy.” He said, walking over and putting the bag down. “Fuck, that’s making me hungry... and the cake also looks fantastic.” He grinned, his eyes obviously on the smaller’s body.
