Grief
I just think. if you make a show where the chatacters are all different species of the same animal family, and during the show theyre all treated as equal, but a popular headcanon pops up that one of the chatacters is inherently weaker/more fragile/disabled because of their species, and so you abruptly decide to make it canon that this chatacter is so fragile and delicate that they can no longer do what they could do previously in the show and now other characters treat them like glass when before they didnt, BECAUSE of their species and nothing else, then you should go to hell
nobody wants to talk about how donnie was shown to be the first turtle to walk around the streets and in aprils school without drawing attraction because he didnt need to wear a mascot suit to hide. because his shell is flat and flexible. so he could just wear a hoodie and he was fine. no one wants to talk about how being a soft shell turtle affects all areas of his life, even the positive sides, because its a fucking adaptation. wow i wonder if being smaller and more flexible could give him an advantage with certain ninja stuff. nooooo its all just he's traumatised because he can get bruises and injuries on his shell. all of his brothers have to constantly look out for him because what if he gets a bruise or a cut. april can also get hurt on her back but no one is calling her fragile or disabled. its almost as if they all have their own individual strengths and weaknesses and are aware of them and act/train accordingly
I know why in the rottmnt series the reveal that the foot recruit was casey jones was so abrupt with like no foreshadowing. like thats not the writers fault, having the series be cancelled under their feet. and I like that they decided to do the reveal anyway when they easily could have just left it out
however. if they went so far as to go "this is this universe's casey jones. this is her. explicitly, this is casey jones, what a shame we couldn't do anything with her" then WHYYY in the movie they decided to make casey jones A Totally Different Man. I KNOWWWWW the canon reason. thats her son, and plot reasons meant they couldnt have the og casey there. I KNOW. but if they made New Casey the Casey Jones Of Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, then why bother revealing Original Casey Jones? Thats stupid. And imho opinion misogynist lol. "well we werent able to do much with the first ever* female casey jones for reasons beyond our control, damn that sucks. oh we get to make a movie? nice, deploy male casey jones"

Alters who have shown up in the show:
Raph - he/him. host. You know him. Is aware that he has different "versions" of himself but doesnt know he's a system/what a system is. "Yeah I just get in weird moods or mindsets sometimes haha sorry about that". Wasn't always host, formed when he and his brothers started acting more like a "team" rather than " just brothers", when they started taking their lou jitsu roleplay more seriously and identifying with it. His self image is slightly more human adjacent, not a lot but sometimes when he looks at himself in the mirror its a little jarring.
"Mind raph" - he/him. Mutated turtle, looks like the body, more comfortable with his body. Doesnt quite realise he's seperate from raph. Mr helpful. Sooths and gives advice. He and raph are quite connected, he is the more "responsible and logical" one, while raph feels more like a kid and has more heightened emotions. Likes to cook.
"Feral" raph - it/its. doesnt have a name it associates with itself. animalistic turtle/non mutated turtle. Holds isolation trauma, both from general "im a mutant" isolation and a specific event from when they were very young, where they got seperated from their family for a few days. Lashes out at anything it is scared of or doesnt understand. Constantly feels cornered.
"Mean/harsh raph" - they/them. Very angry and distrustful - only trusts themself to do things right. Annoyed at everyone else's incompetence and how they don't seem to care enough, and is sick of having to carry everything themself. Feels as if this is the only way to protect both themselves and others. Holds a lot of anger and resentment towards splinter and his failures as a father and everyone else for openly loving him. After the show ends, doesn't like that Leo is now "leader"
Others:
Red - she/they. little kid, ~5-9. Old host, doesnt front a lot anymore, only during more quiet, low stress times, like meals or movie nights. She's half rat and half turtle, because she's very family oriented. Skittish around april and very wary of anyone who isnt immediate family. Clingy. Likes action figures and is very good with badic electronics, like figuring out how to plug things into the tv and stuff. Very happy she can now reach things that are high up.
Lee jitsu - they/she. 12-13ish. Human. Was originally a self insert character from Red daydreaming about if she was in the lou jitsu cinematic universe, and if lou jitsu became her master/mentor. High energy, loves action, The Biggest Lou Jitsu Fan. Isnt really aware of the rest of the system.
there is also scuff, he/him, a 4-6 year old mutant rat. Has some human characteristics but not as much as splinter. He split when they were very young. He loves all things gross, and could handle their early unsanitary living conditions a lot better. Very inquisitive, he and donnie get on particularly well as they do questionable experiments together. He clashes with "feral" raph a lot as it likes to stay close to home
