While Lisanna had known her selected job would take a few weeks, at the time 'a few weeks' hadn't seemed that long at all. Now that she had returned from said job... well - "Eve! Eve! Eve!!" she rushed towards him, hands finding both of his, her smile bright and eyes alight. "It's been forever! How are you? How is everyone? Did you miss me? I missed you! And everyone else too!" She would have thrown her arms around him and hugged him, yet she was aware her excitement might lead her to hug him all too tightly.
A smile split his face in half as he squeezes her hands for the half second that she was holding onto his before he returned the hug that Lisanna seemed to have decided on. Ah. He hardly minded it, quite the opposite. '' Welcome back, Lisanna, '' he said calmly as blue eyes briefly inspected her, simply to assure that she was fine, that she had not been injured on her job. She appeared to be safe and sound, a simple fact that gladdened his heart.
He was someone who worried. Even when he knew someone was capable, he could not avoid the thought that sometimes, personal skill did not matter. Windsor had been plenty skilled. Windsor was still dead now. Sometimes, bad things just happened, and that was a tragic aspect of life. The relief that flooded him was welcome. He was happy to see her again, happier that she was all right.
Carefully, he let go of her and instead offered her his arm. '' I can catch you up on all you missed, '' he promised as he gestured towards one of the gazebos in the guild garden. He did not think other guilds had those, but theirs was special. '' I was going to get tea, but you said you were almost back so I decided to wait so we could have tea together. As for how everyone has been---Ren is still rather . . . down, so Hibiki decided to drag him out on a job. ''
Hibiki had asked Eve if he wanted to come along, but he had cited a previous engagement and opted to stay behind in Dahlia to instead await Lisanna's return. But that was not the point, right now.
He smiled, eyes focused on one of the sunflowers. They did tend to remind him of Lisanna. '' And yes, '' he admitted as he gently squeezed her arm. '' I did miss you while you were gone . . . and I'm really curious how your job panned out. You mentioned something about clowns being involved? ''
Perhaps the next time, they would be able to take on a job together.
