Thoughts on the new Adventuresnin Odyssey movie trailer
Is NOT in line with what we know pre Whit's End Whit to be like. We know after Jerry's death he was broken and bitter. He's far too spiritual.
Them knowing all the secrets in the Filmore Recreation Center actual makes it worse to me because then "saving it" feels more like a personal gain then just "I want to let kids be kids"
Who is this blond chick get her off my screen
This does not feel like the 70s. At all.
Still hate the animation style and how cheaply Ai it looks
I will say VERY interested in knowing how Whit could have saved Jerry

Think about "Train Ride" and the implications of the case. Also thinking about the delivery of "Never let it be said that Lawrence Chalmers didn't repay a debt. Thanks Eugene"
"I don't feel like killing every cat. That would make me a murderer."
Ok, but what is the philosophy behind this line? Are you vegan? Is it just cats that you value as much as humans? Is an entire species the equivalent to a human life?
I mean I think it's just how killing every cat would be a quite negative experience and I mean yeah I'm not a vegan but needlessly killing every cat would be quite bad 😂
I would have known immediately something is up you can't fly a B17 with three ppl and what do you MEAN he was taking a nap while over enemy territory???? No??

Posting this even though the fandom could fit on a motorcycle ( @missdrummond )
The Season 3 dynamics of the Ceiling Fan are soooo intriguing to me. Like we start the season with the classic comedian/straight man duos.
(this got long so read more below the cut)
James (comedian) and Aaron (straight man) and Ethan (comedian) and Phil (straight man).
This makes sense from a comedy POV. James off humor and energy balances out with Aaron's strong moral code and homeschooled awkwardness.
Ethan as we know is insane and childish. And while we know that Phil can be childish too, his maturity and "adult concern" balances out Ethan's antics.
But THEN we get into the end of s3 and s4.
We see Aaron pushed out of the focus, and James and Ethan become the duo. Phil has also been shoved aside, paired with Uncle Bernie.
This goes into s4 where all of the characters get a place to shine.
HOWEVER we only get one strong traditional sitcom comedian/straight man pairing.
This is of course Kurt and Aaron. Now as soon as we meet Kurt we know he's Aaron's foil. He's irresponsible, has loose morals, lies and steals like it's second nature, and truly doesn't seem to realize that he is the adult of the pair. Aaron is mature for is age if a little naive, he has a strong moral compass, feeling guilty for lying even when it saves his life. Aaron is effectively the adult of the group.
This was a great decision. James and Kurt would be chaos as James just kinda goes with things and is always up for a good time. Kurt is also the only character who could make Ethan look like the straight man. And that's mostly because he has strong opinions and recognizes oddities in others but not himself. Kurt and Phil would just not be an interesting pairing and i think Phil would kill Kurt with a guitar string after one car ride. This is such a great pairing and fits the typical mold.
Ethan and James kind of follow comedian/straight man. Ethan is still immature, paranoid and wild. James is still full of humor, sarcasm, and energy, but he does recognize that he is the adult of the group. When things get serious, he takes the straight man role. It may not be his preferred role, but he plays it well in this scenario. So we do still have the sitcom mold, even if it is slightly diluted.
But Phil and Bernie completely goes off script. They are both the straight men. You'd think that Phil could easily slip into the comedian type, but not with Bernie. There's too much stress and trauma there. So while of course there is still a lot of humor in their segments, it's not what the Ceiling Fan usually shows. But it WORKS.
The way the Ceiling Fan deals with its characters, pushing them into new and unexpected roles while still keeping them true to themselves is phenomenal. When I was a kid I liked it at face value. But here I am two and half degrees later, who has studied theater and sitcoms for close to ten years now, and it really is so well done!!
