Upon the heath, beneath the sky
I stood and gazed upon the scene
The fields of green and flowers nigh
And all the beauty that was seen
The gentle breeze that kissed my face
And whispered secrets in my ear
Of love and grace, of time and place
And all that I hold dear
My heart was filled with sweet desire
For one who was not by my side
A burning fire, a true admirer
Whom I'd love till end of tide
I closed my eyes and whispered low
The name of her who held my heart
For in her glow, my love would grow
And ne'er from me would depart
So here I stand, upon the heath
And dream of love's sweet ecstasy
For in her wreath, my soul finds peace
And all the world is but a dream to me
