Eventually, they made it out of the crowded, narrow ways of Makai City and into  the empty land of pass civilization. To where, on a hill nearby, a large door could be seen. "…And that would be the entrance to Gensokyo."

Sure, the size surprised him a bit, but the fact that it was what separated dimensions sort of warranted something grand in scheme. "...What exactly should I expect on the other side?"

Finishing Move:

"Let us go our intended route then. Should this group appear they will pose no threat to us," he replied, certain, speaking his mind to Luize — a rare thing he did to anyone or anything, being who he was. "At the very least, I can gauge the level of creatures I may be dealing with in the near future, should something go wrong. And I would not like my first battle to be unassisted, should I somehow be outclassed."

"The last time they saw me, they ran away like small children, I don’t think have much to worry about."

Either he was simply explaining his thoughts to the Makaian to be informative, or he was actually warming up to the residents in and around Pandemonium. After all, they had been rather helpful so far.

There was a full two seconds for all of that thought to transpire before he spoke. “What I am doing,” he replied, his tone holding a hint of annoyance, holding it back to remain civil, “is traveling, maiden.” Besides, walking was for the living. “Or rather, was, considering you have halted my progress by assuming I have wronged you in some way.”

He held it there a moment before pulling it back and swinging it into a tree, embedding it there for the moment. "And I assure you, any smart aggressor thinks twice before trying anything, especially with the likes of me." It wasn't certain, but Specter Knight may or may not be trying to act a little too cool.

"…I do despise them, although I’ve seldom seen them. And the last time I did, I pounded their faces in for what they tried to do to her."

"…I see," he stated, assuring Luize he had both heard and listened, but needing some further info. "Tell me more on this miasma within Makai. What exactly does it do to those not native?"

"It can affect everyone not native, really. Non-humans may feel a little dizzy, or half symptoms like a cold or flu. As for humans, depending on age and health, it can range from minor illness to…well, death, but that hasn’t before! Or, actually, some say it makes them feel like they’re intoxicated." Not just by alcohol, either. In other words, it’ll either make you sick, or high as a kite.

As they approached the city, the apparition couldn't help but be a little nervous. He was never used to towns or settlements. He tended to garner attention where he was from. Here, however, he was more likely to fit in, and still the concern lingered. "You are certain nothing will present itself as a problem as we pass through to the gate?"

Now, understandably, when you’ve been woken up violently, you’re not going to be a pleasant person for a while. With a 'Hmph!', the girl made her way over, scowling. "HEY!" She called out, brushing aside anything that was in her way. "Just what do you think you’re doing?!” Of course, she wasn’t entirely sure of what was going on, and wasn’t even aware if the guy had anything to do with the fairy incident, but she seemed to believe that for the moment. “You can’t just walk into a place like this! There are people trying to sleep here!”

Feeling the subject had run it’s course, Specter Knight shifted gears to another question on his mind. “Why is there no gatekeeper on this side, if one exists within Gensokyo?”

"Oh? Well, not many demons are interested in leaving Makai. Some years ago, we had an incident where many decided to and left into Gensokyo, far too many for our gatekeeper to stop. Although it was somewhat illegal, I was one of the many who tried to take advantage of the crowds and sneak into Gensokyo. Then a shrine maiden came and took care of that, I was bed-ridden for around a week, but us demons heal quickly, and I;m one of the more advanced ones when it comes to that. But, anyway, now many demons don’t wish to leave to Gensokyo besides me and some family, really. So there’s no need for a guard."

"...I see," he stated, assuring Luize he had both heard and listened, but needing some further info. "Tell me more on this miasma within Makai. What exactly does it do to those not native?"

Feeling the subject had run it's course, Specter Knight shifted gears to another question on his mind. "Why is there no gatekeeper on this side, if one exists within Gensokyo?"

"The city and its people have developed for over 250 years by now, so we could only hope its well."

At the smile, the apparition gave a nod, unable to really express anything with his visor. “I am known by the name of Specter Knight.” he stated, getting the introduction out of the way while trying to add a little flair in the way he said it. 

"You don’t need me to ward off the miasma, do you? From what I can tell, it shouldn’t affect you."

Thinking a moment on a subject, he turned to the city they would pass through soon. "What is this civilization like here in Makai. I would hope they are kind, for the most part."

After a moment, Specter Knight spoke again, cautiously moving his left hand from his weapon, moving into a more idle stance as he remained an inch or two above the ground. “Who are you?” he asked, watching her for any sort of tells on personality and demeanor.

        [☯] — ❝Oops, did I startle you?❞ The odd woman giggled,                                a disturbing grin spiraled across her face.                           ❝My my, aren’t you a fascinating specter.❞ She seemed                               to avoid his question about who she was, more interested                               on what he was.

"Specter Knight," he replied, giving her his title as well as confirming her observation. He would reiterate his first question, but he doubted she would answer it quite yet. Instead, he attempted to get to the point. "What do you need?"

After a moment, Specter Knight spoke again, cautiously moving his left hand from his weapon, moving into a more idle stance as he remained an inch or two above the ground. "Who are you?" he asked, watching her for any sort of tells on personality and demeanor.

Now he had a new female leading him along, Specter Knight making sure to remain just inside striking distance in case she tried anything.
