↳ YOU ARE A SCAVENGER; a lone wanderer of the galaxies barely scraping by on your derelict secondhand ship. You hunt down abandoned ships and settlements, stripping them of what useful parts you can find and selling those to whoever will pay your prices. It's a dangerous, solitary life, but you don't have much choice in the matter. You have too much of a past to trust a crew or to settle down planetside.

But everything will change when you discover the salvage of a lifetime. Among the ruins of a planet older than you thought possible, you discover an ancient prison, containing something that you thought existed only in myth.

You don't remember what happens next; but when you wake, you're a prisoner on a Consortium ship — and you are no longer alone in your own mind.

Or is is the lost vessel of the last god? Either way, life as you know it is over. The Consortium — the conglomeration of various companies and governments that rule known space — want your head. The rebels want your power. But what do you want?

Escaped the Consortium with the aid of a fellow prisoner and a disgraced officer. Find a new ship, gather a crew of your own, and forge your place in a universe in which you are now something other than human.

Hello from the unrelenting abyss, and Happy Easter to those who may celebrate! As they say, the best laid plans of mice and men go oft awry, and that's especially true for me, a socially awkward commitment phobe.

I've had to put Godsfall on hold for the past few months. It's not just that — all of my fiction has kind of been put on the backburner, along with everything but my job, which I'm hanging onto by a thread. Seasonal affective disorder is a bitch. But Spring has arrived, the sun is mostly shining, and I'm feeling like a whole new person.

As far as Godsfall is concerned, I'm working on it again. I'm currently re-writing the opening scene, and it's... going. I have such lofty plans for the plot, and sometimes the work of actually writing my ideas in a coherent way becomes overwhelming.

Regardless, I plan on being more active here and posting about the plot, the romance options, and the process of writing and coding. Thanks to everyone who chose to follow this project!

Hello! It's the middle of summer, school is on break for the semester, and my air conditioning is broken. Somehow, though, I'm finding the motivation to write and code.

HOLLIS GALLOWAY ↳ the grifter (they/them)

"You didn't think I was going to just follow orders. Did you?"

Born on one of the huge megacities scattered through the colonized galaxy, Hollis learned the art of the con at their mother's knee. They were raised more as an accessory to their mother's schemes than a person in their own right, but Hollis soon began to run their own grifts. By the time they're both caught by the authorities when Hollis is sixteen, they have rap sheet a mile long — or would, if they had a legal identity. But Hollis' mother never registered their birth. And as a minor, Hollis was given a second chance, their records sealed, and sent into the foster system.

Of course, when they aged out, they returned to the grift as soon as they could. It was the only thing they knew, the only thing they're good at.

And they are very, very good at it.

You will meet Hollis on the CSS Byzantium as you make your escape. How did they get there? Will they aid you? And if they do — what will they expect in return?

In Godsfall, you can choose one of five backgrounds for your character. Each comes with a number of unique interactions, as well as a special subplot.

THE DESERTER ↳ You were once a loyal and decorated member of the renowned Consortium security forces. Rising quickly in the ranks, you soon found yourself in command of your own ship, with your own men. But the more you learned about the Consortium and the powers-that-be, the less comfortable you were serving them. Finally, you chose to leave. But no one abandons the Consortium without consequences.

THE ARISTOCRAT ↳ You were once a spoiled heir of one of the many Consortium nobles. Raised to follow in your parents footsteps as a ruler of the galaxies, you never questioned your place in the universe — until you did. Until one day, your eyes were opened to the truth of your family's power. You left, and you haven't looked back. But you know your family is just waiting for you to return, tail between your legs.

THE REVOLUTIONARY ↳ You were once a child of the rebellion. An orphan, you were raised on the streets of a megatropolis, belonging to no one. You found a home among the revolution, a loose collection of groups fighting for the people against the Consortium's power and influence. Willing to do almost anything for the cause — until you're framed for a deadly attack, abandoned by your siblings in the fight, and left to escape by the skin of your teeth.

THE OPPORTUNIST ↳ You were once a corporate officer, a comfortable member of the upper-middle class with you're focus on yourself and your financial bottom line. You're secure in your position, and confident that a promotion is in your immediate future — until you're accused of stealing from the Consortium itself, a crime tantamount to treason. Your ruthless nature has left you few defenders, and it's only bribery that allows you to escape.

Ooh, this is a tough question for me. I'm… not a huge fan of the MBTI types system. But since this is all in good fun, here's my best attempt, with the caveat that I don't know a ton about the different types. (I used this site for reference!)

Hello! First, I wanted to thank everyone for following me. The response to my story idea has been amazing, much more than I ever thought with the little that I've posted so far.

Second, it's time for an update. I had so many plans for this blog, lots of worldbuilding and character tidbits to share while I work on the story and coding. Unfortunately, my mom was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year, and it kind of derailed all of my plans — for this project, and my others.

For those who are concerned or curious, my mom's doing really good. Chemo is hard, but she's exceeding the doctor's expectations at this point.

So, I'm back at it! I've opened twine again, I'm reading my notes, and I can't wait to start writing Godsfall.

Quick question, is the lost god/parasite(?) inside the vessel romanceable? I didn't see it in the romance list but I still want to ask.
