Pray, even if you feel nothing, see nothing. For when you are dry, empty, sick or weak, at such a time is your prayer most pleasing to God, even though you may find little joy in it. This is true of all believing prayer.

You are not called to be like your parents, you are called to be like your FATHER. There are some of you here that think that your future is contingent on the past that you’ve grown up in, in the household that you grew up in. You think, because your parents are alcoholics, you’re going to be an alcoholic. And you think that, because your parents don’t really go to church, you’re not going to go to church. And, because your parents didn’t have a successful marriage, you’re not going to have a successful marriage. And for some reason, you think, because of some bad teaching and bad theology, that there’s some sort of generational curse that’s over your life. But I want you to know that when you were born again, and you gave your life to Christ, all generational curses were broken! You were born again. Now, your legacy is tied into Jesus, not into your parents. You ARE going to have a successful marriage, you WILL graduate college, You ARE going to be great. You WILL do incredible things. It’s ONLY because of Jesus Christ, not because of who your parents are.
