Jax's trauma is so heartbreaking :( The scene with the doors really highlights how every single relationship she has is tainted by it. (Yes, I'll use she because I can) Everytime, someone is gone, and her relationship with someone else is fucked up because of it, just like with her dad and mom, it all stems from it. Of course she's confused about affection since her mom constantly mixed demonstrations of love and reprimands.

I am SO SO tempted to go to our local pride on saturday but I'm scared there won't be anyone there and that it'll be awkward and I'll just stand in a corner the whole time. (Also I'm a LIL worried someone will recognize me, but I would wear a face cover, since my parents would be pissed if they caught me somehow. (Out of the country right now)) Um. Any tips/advice? I REALLY want to find other poly people to talk with, since there's not really anyone I know of who is marked as such.
Listen to me. There WILL be other people at your prideš celebration. If you don't want to stand in the corner alone, don't. You can compliment someone on their outfit or makeup and then ask a couple follow up questions or say this is your first and you were expecting X and its really more Y and get a conversation started. You can ask someone to show you around because you're nervous!
Whether there will be other polyamorous people that you'll find, I can't say for certain. But if you are willing to put yourself out there, you can find someone to talk to that's chill. Familiarize yourself with all the different polyam symbols and color schemes, and talk to anyone who has them. Wear any you have, make a sign, or buy a button while you're there.
That's the best advice I can give. Put yourself out there. Commit to talking to a few strangers. Its scarier than it is. Good luck ššš¤
