HEADCANONS LIST!
(;âšââš) = What scares the character
This power she inherited scares her. Â The prospect of immortality is terrifying. Is she going to live forever? It makes every day that follows seem to stretch on even longer. Â How can someone like her control and contain this great power...what if she hurts someone... Â These things terrify her. Â Chris is afraid that she isnât someone strong enough, that sheâll fall short and fail...in spite of her best efforts. Â (But, nonetheless, she has to try.)
Sheâs still somewhat scared of Ursula...sheâs not sure sheâll ever be free of that either.

HEADCANONS LIST!
・ďž(TăŽT)ďžď˝Ą = What makes the character laugh
AS I SAID, she will laugh at just about anything when the intent is to be funny. (But she wonât laugh at mean jokes, or at peopleâs natural born appearances -- seriously, everyone stop poking at her cousinâs ⨠super charming eyebrows ⨠and now sheâs yelling at me for joking about it.)
She also laughs at silly little things, sheâs the kind of person that laughs at youtube videos of cute animals. Â Like the delighted LOOK HOW CUTE laugh, not HAHA ANIMALS ARE SO DUMB kind of laugh.Â
(´ďźĐďźď˝) = What worries the character
SHEâS A LITTLE WORRIED SHEâS NOT GOING TO GET ANY TALLER. Â Itâs not like she wants to be super tall (though...she wouldnât mind if she was) but sheâs kind of worried about what the whole Spectre thing does to her body? Â Is it going to stunt her growth? Â If she cuts her hair, will it grow back? Â Among other worries.
How is she going to repair the wall of that manor?Â
How is she going to make funeral arrangements for all the people in her household that passed away? Â How is she going to contact their families? Â
Will she ever be able to look Ursula in the eye without flinching after all that?
Chris is a child of many worries.

HEADCANONS LIST!
・ďž(TăŽT)ďžď˝Ą = What makes the character laugh
Chris will laugh at whatever you want her to laugh at.  No, really!  If someone makes a joke and Chris is able to understand that this person is trying to be funny⌠she will laugh.  Not a big, haha kind of laugh, but sheâll at least give you a little awkward giggle.  She doesnât want you to think youâre not funny or something.  SHE HAS RECEIVED YOUR EFFORT AND WILL REPAY IT WITH LITTLE LADYLIKE LAUGHS. Sheâll also sometimes just laugh from sheer happiness or relief, she gets nervous with words sometimes but she wants to communicate how joyful your presence isâŚor something.  Sheâs a cookie, if you want to make her laugh she will laugh for you the moment that is made clear.Â
(´ďźĐďźď˝) = What worries the character
Chris is somewhat prone to worryingâŚso a lot of things worries her.  Sheâs worried about what sheâs going to do with herself in the future, sheâs worried about not being strong enough to bear the weight of her choices.  Sheâs not someone thatâs very confident or optimistic, so she has a lot of doubts but sheâs learning to push past them.  (Sheâs also worried about UrsulaâŚtheyâve both lost so muchâŚand theyâre both alone now.  Even though thereâs two of them, theyâre both alone.)
(â âďšâ ) = What the character daydreams or thinks about
She thinks about the past a lot.  She thinks about when her mother and father were both still alive, when Ursula was her difficult older sister but nothing more terrifying than that.  Theyâre not quite daydreams and thereâs nothing very idyllic about these thoughts, Ursula still picked on her and while her parents were loving her father was never very presentâŚbut she thinks about those memories fondly. Â
She thinks about her older cousin too (she has a hard time thinking of him as Rhadamanthys but she feels rude thinking of him by a name he no longer goes by, so she just thinks of him as âcousinâ a lot of the time) and about ValentineâŚand she kind of realises they werenât really that close back then, sheâd only met them a few times, but she keeps going back in her memories to try to find more.
Chris really misses them.
Daydreams though, she daydreams about meeting Aspros again, she daydreams about being tall enough so that looking into his face doesnât require her to tilt her head all the way back⌠And in the daydreams sheâs strong enough to carry everything and has continued to live like she told himâŚand he tells her that she did well. Also, heâs happy in those daydreams.  Sheâs not sure why heâs happy but heâs happy and satisfied and doing well, like she is.Â
( âoâ)äşş(â-â ) = Friends the character has or would like to make
SHE WANTS TO BE ASPROSâ FRIEND.  There is a whole list of people that Chris already really likes and wants to be friends with, but Aspros is at the very top.  She wants to be friends with Rhadamanthys and Valentine too and DEFTEROSâŚheâs so tall and cool, she wants to be his friend too.  Chris isnât someone thatâs very social, but sheâs very used to being around a lot of people (partly because sheâs been raised surrounded by servants and tutors), so even though sheâs a little bit shy and quiet sheâs quite eager to befriend people. There is a part of her that just kind of fidgets with anxiety at the thought of approaching someone, but when it goes well she just blooms with happiness.Â
( She wants to be friends with Ursula.  No she doesnât.  Maybe she does.  She isnât sure⌠Ursula is kind of awful, but she loves her and she wants to have a relationship with her.  Maybe.  They canât be nothing to each other.)
Hardly one to give into conversations, Rhadamanthys listened intently her every word, minding her every gesture. And in silence, he mulled over her resolve, her search for whatever truth was it that she was looking for, and most of all, her choice.
She chose to remain as Chris Walden. And if he failed to understand what sort of choice was this, at first, it soon dawned on him â one obvious truth he unconsciously tried to remain oblivious to, it seemed. His denial made no sense, and neither did her decision; there could be no greater honor than serving Lord Hades, and the fate of a star could not be avoided.
(And still, if only she could be sparedâŚ
She couldnât. No one could.)
Albeit the odd angle, he took a moment to inspect the bandages, before facing her again. It was hard not to wonder what had happened to her, but now the pressing question seemed go be what would happen to her. Treason never led to a particularly bright future.Â
But then again, nothing did.
Slowly, he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his thighs, a quiet disgruntled groan escaping him due the annoying sting of pain at his side.
âWhat truth is it that you seek?â he finally asked, eyeing her inquisitively.Â
If his tone was slightly softer than that which one would expect from a Judge, it could be blamed on an echo of a past that should have remained forgotten.
"What can you tell me?" Chris wondered if it was something that her cousin -- that Rhadamanthys could get in trouble for. Â Whatever he may tell her, and even just simply not forcing her to forfeit the power that she had claimed. Â He understood the consequences better than she did though, so there was no point in worrying too much when she had already asked. Â "I came here because I...wanted to verify what happened back then. Â They never told me, you know, I guess...because I was a child."
She supposed she still was, but after all that happened she couldn't continue to move forward without knowing anything. Â "What does it...really mean to be a Spectre? Â This Holy War...what is it?" Â There were all these images that the words conjured, memories maybe, but they were like soundless shadows moving in her mind. Â She didn't really understand what she saw, all that she knew was that it wasn't what she wanted. Â Chris didn't need to know more to make her choice...but maybe more information would help her keep this power contained, help her find a way to live whatever life that was ahead of her quietly. Â
"If I don't have to...I don't want to fight, I just want to know how to avoid it and how to protect what's left of our family." Â Maybe she was still too weak.
It was confusing, overwhelming and⌠Warming. It was an onslaught of memories that he wasnât used to feel, considering just how foggy his past was, but at least this time he did not look back with worry, rather with a particular nostalgia that left him both speechless and aching to ask, to talk, to know. When he became a Specter, Valentine didnât get to know what had happened back at the Walden mansion, mostly because he could barely remember anything from his time there, but in that moment he just⌠Wondered how Chris pulled through everything. She was so young (they all were, at the time) and from a day to another, she found herself alone. If that wasnât a nightmare, the Specter did not know what it could be. âI am sorry I didnât recognize you at first, itâs just thatâŚâ He looked at the hand touching his own and the Harpy could just notice just how human she still was, despite- Well. She didnât feel like a human, she had a clear Cosmo. ââŚMy memoryâs not what it used to be. But I am so very glad to see youâre in good health and⌠Still smiling.â Carefully, Valentine closed his fingers a little around Chrisâ hand, being overly careful not to cut her: certainly it didnât feel the same as when they were humans, but somehow that simple gesture still had a sort of⌠Soothing effect.
Chris shook her head, "Don't be sorry, I didn't really recognise you either...besides, I was only four when I last saw you, I would hope I don't look the same!" Â She was perhaps more surprised that he had recognised her, through all that. Â She was glad that they were meeting again now, and that Valentine hadn't seen her when she'd been sad and mute. Â
She stared at the dark armor that covered Valentine's hand, if she hadn't known him, he probably would have been an intimidating figure now. But at the same time, not much had changed...and this wasn't even much of a surprise anymore. Â Of course, he'd stayed faithful to Alexander...and she dared to hope that it meant that neither of them had been alone. Â "I hope...you've been well, in spite of everything."
Maybe she was a little afraid to ask about what happened directly. She felt like it would shatter this tentative warmth.
âYou said something?â He heard her clearly. Her tone caught his attention. Her body language didnât go unnoticed. Manigoldo looked her over quickly; her whimpering and quivering demeanor was no longer lingering in place. She gained courage all because he said something about Aspros? That Gemini mustâve done something real special thenâ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Something that Mani couldnât fathom.
âYouâre so hellbent on this trespassing crap.â Regardless of his tone, he smiled crookedly. He didnât stop when his cape was grabbed. Manigoldo kept walking, not caring if he dragged the girl along with him. âAlright kid. Iâll tell you my name: itâs Manigoldo. Iâm the Cancer Saint, so Cancer Manigoldo. Got that?â
As he walked, Manigoldo turned his head around, looking at Chris from his shoulder, âAnd Iâm here because I sensed some shady shit. Tell me, have you heard of Specters?â
The temptation to yank harder on his cape, maybe hard enough to jerk him back, was there. Â But Chris wanted to avoid a fight if she could, she still wasn't familiar with these powers that were suddenly hers and while she'd steeled herself to the prospect of fighting in order to protect her own convictions...this was stretching it a bit. Â If she didn't have to fight she still didn't want to. Â No matter how irritating this man was, she didn't want to hurt anyone needlessly.
"Of course I have! I already told you that Aspros defeated them, that was why he was sent to protect me!" Â
Chris flinched as the broken facade of the manor came into view. Â Strange, it had been comforting and open in her mind before, but seeing it like this...seeing how broken it was, she hadn't been prepared for it. Â She could hardly bare to look at it, like how Ursula could hardly look at her. Â When would these people stop coming as they pleased, stop crashing into her life and breaking apart everything? Â
"Go fight somewhere else...they've already taken everything apart. Â Thereâs nothing else for you to break.â Â Except her, but she wasnât going to fall apart again.

HEADCANONS LIST!Â
(â§ââŚ) = What makes the character happy
If sheâs around people she loves and theyâre happy â sometimes just if sheâs around other people that are happy, whether she knows them or not -- thatâs enough. Â
(She was very happy on Valentineâs Day, with everyone celebrating and being so affectionate. Â Just being able to look on made her happy.)
Being able to spend time with people she cares about is really all it takes to make Chris happy. Â There are a lot of other little things of course, she likes a good pot of tea and sweets, horses, riding, painting â there are a lot of things she likes. Â Chris has never lacked material things, so she knows that even if she has all those things but sheâs alone, itâs quite meaningless. Â Sheâs incredibly happy and thankful just to be around those important to her.Â
Being called Asprosâ friend made her a little happyâŚ

How long had it been?
It was easy to lost track of time when you stop living, he noticed. Even if her voice faltered a little, words failing her, Chris had clearly grown into a young woman with a heart full of resolve â and for the briefest moment, he felt an unwelcome twinge of pride in his chest. Yet another feeling that did not belong to him, not to Rhadamanthys, and he made sure to push it aside.
â⌠There is nothing to apologize for.â He had remained silent through as she spoke, mulling over the questions she posed and those that arose from her mere presence. The pointless, shy apology, however, was just what it took to convince him to speak again, a reprimand lingering in the coldness of his tone. âYouâre doing me a favor. Donât ever apologize for that.â
She was doing him a favor. The least he could do was to return it â were they strangers or kin, it made no difference. Or so he told himself.
âYou wonât find any answers here. Thereâs nothing but death in this place,â he said in a quiet voice, gaze lost in the shadows that were closing in on them, still studying the ruins he once called home. âAnd itâs certainly no place for you.â
He could barely feel her touch as she worked on the stitches, the faint sting of the needle being the only reminder of the task he had at hand.
âAll you once knew about this house is long gone, including your cousin.â His gaze fell upon her again, inscrutable. âHe died with the others. I am Wyvern Rhadamanthys.â
"Al--" Chris stopped herself, even though, instinctively, she wanted to call out his name. The name she remembered, the one painted in childish affection. Â Chris bowed her head, focusing on what she was doing silently, turning his words over in her mind. Â He was wrong though, whether he was Rhadamanthys or Alexander, he was here. Even if his name had changed, his life and person had been irrevocably altered -- Â there was still that familiar person inside. Â Someone that was almost always too serious, that was frighteningly stern, but not unkind.
She set the needle down when she finished, hopefully it would hold, at least until he could find someone to redo the stitches. Â Chris took the fresh gauze and wrapped the wound up again. Â
"I found you here," she retorted softly. Â She looked up at him, smiling hurt a little. Â "I wasn't looking for the house I knew... or even the cousin I knew. I was so little back then, I didn't know or understand anything of what happened. Â It's fine if you're a different person, I don't have a right to tell you who you are...but I'll decide whether this is a place for me."
She washed her hands in the water basin, it was enough to clean the blood off of her hands...and the blood was enough to turn the water dark and murky. Â "I just need to know, so that I can decide how to move forward. I chose to remain as Chris Walden, and I wonât become someone else..."
Even if he was a Spectre, and he was...that was clear enough to Chris now, she trusted him.  She wasn't being careless in trusting him, she just knew. âI canât defend my place if I donât understand whatâs happening, so even if you donât tell me... Iâll keep looking for the truth.â
If nothing else came from this, if she found out nothing more... at least she got to meet him again. Â Chris was thankful for that.
It was her. She even remembered his name- And there was no mistaking it, not after the insistent nagging in his head, that memory (those memories) desperately trying to resurface: when Chris reached out for his hand, Valentine almost retreated it against himself, simply out of worry that she could get hurt with the sharp claws, but- He found out the couldnât move. Rather, he was too much into a shock to. ââŚHow?â His brain was slowly (painfully slowly) processing what was happening, but despite that, the Harpy felt himself starting to smile, even his breathing suddenly becoming quicker- Much like that of an excited child, rather than the warrior he was, but- It was just too much.
Chris laughed softly, for no reason other than the gentle swell of warm memories that surrounded this familiar face. Â It had been so long ago, she had been so young, and had only met Valentine a few times... But it was hard for Chris to forget the older boy that gave her chocolate to cheer her up, gave her chocolate to gently bribe her, and just always seemed to have a few sweets on hand for them to share. Â She could hardly forget his face or his hair either, even now Valentine's expression was soft, gentle. Chris touched the back of his armored hand lightly. Â A Surplice, there was no mistaking it of course, she wondered how much he'd suffered ten years ago, wondered how much he suffered in the years that had passed.
"A lot happened but...âhowâ doesn't matter now. I'm just...happy to see you again." Â She held his hand more firmly. Â âDonât worry, you wonât hurt me.â Â

If at first he managed to summon her name so promptly, Chrisâ response rendered him speechless, barely able to do anything but to watch her, aggravation giving room for confusion and wonder. He hadnât seen her in years; the child he once knew was now a young woman, and even in the pastâ that past life of his â, they hadnât been exactly close. And yet, he recognized her in a moment, her presence proving to be absolutely overwhelming.
He almost flinched as she came near him, as if she could be hurt by simply touching him. But the beast, still too stunned to act, did nothing but watch as she got rid of the last few bandages, as delicate as can be. And what could a tamed animal do but obey her command?
(When she left, the emptiness inside seemed to grow further, deeper. He couldnât quite comprehend what was it that he felt, let alone why he felt it.)
Ages passed until she was back, and yet he still held the gauze against the wound, handling the bleeding as well as he could â and if there was still any sort of humor in him, he could possibly appreciate the way roles had changed. But all he did was to push the thought aside, focusing on the matter at hand.
âIââ With better lighting, he slowly removed the bandage he pressed against his side, in order to take a better look at the wound. It would heal, surely, but stitches would definitely hasten the process. Still, as he tried to reach it properly, a brief, pained groan escaped him, and he growled in frustration. âIâll be fine. All I need is to patch this again and leave.â
While it wasnât entirely true, it was no lie either. The faster he got away from that place, the better. But still, one question remained unanswered, and even if he shouldnât mind it, he simply couldnât ignore it.
â⌠What are you doing here?â
Chris returned with a water basin with clean water. Â She had managed to find a usable lamp as well as a small sewing kit, though the thought of having to stitch her cousin back together still made Chris more than a little queasy. Â She wasn't sure if the light made the injury look better or worse, it wasn't as bad as Chris initially thought -- but seeing it clearly made it possible for her to know exactly what she would have to do to properly dress the wound.
"No," she insisted, voice firm. Â Even her hands steadied, no longer shaking. Â "I...I won't let you go without answers."
She had come here looking for clues and found him hunched and bleeding, she wasn't going to just let him go. Â She couldn't move forward and remain blind of the truth, whatever it was. Â Chris could see his face better now in the light. Â It had been ten years since she'd last seen her cousin, he didn't look any ten years older, though there was something weathered about him, and something in his eyes that she couldn't place. Â
Still, this was the same man, she was sure. Â Even if they had only met a handful of times, and he was so much older than Chris, she remembered him clearly. Â
"I came here because I need to know what happened, back then...I won't accept anything less than the truth...please."
She turned her focus back to his wound, he must have already cleaned it before, and though the bleeding hadn't stopped entirely it had slowed down significantly. Â It was impossible to feel sure about what she was doing, but there was no room to hesitate or quiver like a feather. "Hold still for me, please. You can't do it yourself at this angle, I...I promise, I'll do my best."
Her hands were steadier than her heart, thankfully. Â Chris remembered how it felt to have someone suture the gashes on her back, remembered the tiny zigzags that had been worked into her skin to close up the slashes. She tried to let that guide her, rather than think too much about what she was doing or feeling. Â "I'm sorry..." if only there was a doctor, or anyone, that could do this better than her. Â
