Wow guys. Had a minor panic not so long ago when I tried to visit this blog and it wasnât up anymore. Turns out they change the url by adding -blog at the end when you donât log in for a year. Everything is back in order now.Â
Allow me a brief exclamation of relief:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
wandererfromthenorth :
The day had started out clear and bright, but the winds should have told her that it would not stay that way. But in her eagerness to contribute fresh game to the house, she had ignored it and wandered out further than she probably should have. At first she had tried to hunt in the rain, but it was not long before she decided that it was coming down too hard, and went in search of cover.
The little derelict house had always made her sad, and had been avoided for the most part. But there were few other options, so she had quickly ducked under what remained of the roof. She had not been there long when a man suddenly appeared in the doorway. Halldis let out a loud gasp, and took a startled step backwards, raising her bow. Her eyes narrowed slightly, but after studying for a moment she decided that, like her, he only sought refuge from the rain.
âN-NoâŚno trouble,â she agreed, quickly shaking her head. The bow was lowered â though, it had not yet been drawn â and a small, nervous smile was offered, âI just want in out of the rainâŚI assume itâs the same for you, yeah?â
Oh, thank Kyne. She seemed as startled as he was, and he was quick to confirm with a hurried nod.
"Yeah. Er... Sorry, do you mind ifâ..." With his back against the doorpost, he scooted inside just far enough to get under what was left of the roof, all the while maintaining a respectful distance. Heâd lowered his hands a bit, though not entirely, keeping them in front of him still. Â
"I'm to deliver a message in Whiterun," At that, he lowered his gaze and nodded to indicate the case on his hip, "I fear if I keep going, there won't be much of it left by the time I get there."

It was not unheard of for the Jarls to call on the help of Companions when a problem occurred that could not be handled by their guards, and it was not uncommon for Circle members to be the ones who responded to those requests. This was why Indes wasted no time once she entered Morthal, quickly making her way to Highmoon Hall to report to Idgrod herself.
After the Jarl had finished her explanation and Indes spotted the nephew from the corner of her eye, she gave the older Nord an affirmative bow of her head. âUnderstood. You have my word that I will take care of them swiftly.â With that said, she now turned toward Anvindr as he approached. She took the hand that was offered, giving a quick but firm shake.
âIndes,â she responded, returning his smile for a second before their hands dropped. âI assume you are ready to go?â
"Yes, I'm prepared to head out."
It wouldn't do to leave a Companion waiting, quick enough as they usually were to throw a fit about how the common rabble didn't herald them like the heroes they thought themselves to be. Granted, many of them were heroes, truly, but that didn't make them King Wulfharth come again. Although, it was a relief to see that this one, Indes, didn't look like one for idle boasting. At first glance, at least. Only time would tell, but Anvindr was optimistic. And that was saying something.
He turned in the direction of the exit, though he kept his eyes on the Companion, âI can take you to the hideout now, or if you need to rest or stock up, I can see to it that what you need will be provided.â
askdusty:
Smart young man. She chuckled, glancing over the buzzing festivities before turning her gaze back to him. âYouâre right, of course. And why miss out and good food and drink, hm? Iâm very well, thank you, and Ivarsteadâs the same. Having their own little celebration around a roasted boar even now, I wager. And how are you, Anvindr?â She offered him the little, nearly empty tray sheâd been carrying around for this early part of the evening. âApple cider caramel?â
âIâll have one.â He'd been wondering what those were. âThank you.â
He picked one and bit into it. Oh, gods. It was good. Smooth and very, very sweet, melting on his tongue.
"I'm well," he managed to say before he popped the second half in his mouth, "Not much has changed since we spoke on the way to Whiterun. ... These are very good."

Welcome at his fire. Rori knew with certainty then that the Nord didnât realize who or what she was. A foolish thing to offer a stranger with a sabrecat, in any case. Maybe his own safety held very little value.
She couldnât very well harm him now, that was for certain. Heâd done all he could to help Anluan, and the sabrecat was alive and whole, if as exhausted as his caretaker. There was a dilemma at hand.
âAre there others?â She asked, taking a pause to gulp in another breath. âHow far is it?â
âNot far. I ran there and back to get the rope.âÂ
Admittedly, that may have seemed a lot longer to her than it did to him. He knew the way, but sheâd been fighting to keep a creature she clearly cared deeply about from drowning. Time, for her, must have moved like a glacier.Â
âI live alone.â His brow furrowed. Why would sheâ... Oh, the cat. Well, of course, he wouldnât have offered if it meant bringing a large sabre cat into a populated area. Thatâd be asking for trouble. âItâs fine.â
Campfire
askdusty
âOh? Alchemyâs not for everyone, but lucky children of alchemists often unknowingly pick up at least a few tricks.â Her eyes gave a little glint in the dark, smile catlike and satisfied. A little sigh left her as the fire roared with new life, devouring the logs with a shower of sparks and bathing the glowing circle in new warmth.
âI donât think I could do that, myself - like your mother or your aunt. It takes a strong sort, and a patient sort.â A tilt of her head. âMay I ask what drew you to fishing, then? Just the obvious choice? There are good catches here, even for an alchemist like myself. Iâll pay well for a few river betty anytime.â
Strong and patient, yes. Forged out of steel. No, he didnât think he could do that, or be that, either. He shrugged, and continued poking at the fire.
âI donât know. Iâve always felt at home on the water. Itâs good company.â
Yes, it may swallow you and take you to your grave if you werenât careful, but it was a damn sight better than people. A thought came, a chuckle followed. He looked up at her with a small smile. âAnd it doesnât nag at you about taxes or property disputes, or about the neighbourâs children getting into the cloudberry bushes like crows on a fresh carcass.â
Awkward Reunions
tinkerbrielle :
âIt sounds like a place that needs something new, then.â Brielle argued, unwilling to simply let it go. âIf itâs dying, couldnât it do with some help?â
True, a mire wasnât the best place to have a forge, but if trade was dead in the water, there, then it would be hard for the people to afford to go outside to do more. A blacksmith might not be the answer to the problem, but it could be an attempt.
âBesides,â and now she tried for something light-hearted, with a smile, âthereâs always the less-promising apprentices, right?â
He stretched the corners of his mouth in a brief, tight-lipped smile. He was wrong. This wasn't a sustainable branch of conversation either, though he couldnât quite pinpoint what vexed him so much. Maybe... Maybe it was all just too close to home. What did she know, anyway? If she was so full of bright ideas, why wasn't she in some far off city in High Rock, apprenticed to a master builder or artisan? That's what he'd always imagined she'd grow up to do. Why in Kyne's name had she joined these murderers?
"My aunt has ruled Morthal for more decades than we've been alive. I think she knows what she's doing. She doesn't need your help."
wandererfromthenorth replied to your post:
âMe? No, Iâm just watching too,â she offered a small smile, and quickly shook her head, âCompetitions make me rather nervous, Iâd likely just make a fool of myself.â
âHah...â He looked down at his mead with wry smile, nodding. âYeah. You think youâre good at something, until someone watches you do it and then it all falls apart, doesnât it?â
coldwindscutclean replied to your post:
âNot everything. I donât think I could fit it all in.â Shey talked easily, as if she hadnât just walked up to a stranger and initiated a conversation. âYou have any suggestions?â
âOh, er... the honeyed mutton ribs.â He gestured toward a fire not too far down the road, where lambs and sheep roasted on a spit. âOr those cloudberry pies from a stand a wayâs back.â

âI wouldnât ask if I didnât want to.â Sheâd expected him to immediately rebuff her or shrug it off. Baby steps. âWhat are you having?â
âAnother mead, please.â
Should heâ... Should he wait, or...? Thatâd be awkward, to cut their conversation short, having only just greeted each other. And it didnât feel right, standing around waiting with nothing on hand, either.Â
âIâll walk with you. Iâve watched this side of the bonfire long enough.âÂ
âWould you like me to get you a drink?â
Credit where it was due: He missed perhaps only half a beat, before he supplied his answer. He didnât need more, to imagine one of her people had seen him sell fish to a guardsman last week, assumed heâd passed on information about their organization, and decided heâd have to be removed. Poison would do it, wouldnât it? If theyâd pick one he didnât know about. One that wasnât local.Â
And he didnât need more, either, to suppress those thoughts, just as quickly. No. No. Heâd know. Or... would he? Maybe she was just that good. No. Kyneâs sake...
â... Sure. Yes. If you were headed that way, anyway.â
âSo, are you here for the excitement? Or only the alcohol?â
â... Uh.â
He shot a glance over his shoulder, expecting to spot someone else she couldâve possibly addressed. No, it was him. Huh... By her attire, heâd think she was some kind of extravagant noble, but nobles didnât get chewed up like that. And none of that answered the question why in Kyneâs name sheâd be talking to the likes of him.
âThe food, too.â He frowned momentarily at his tankard, for inspiration, then looked up again. âHave you tried it yet?â
âWhat is your favorite thing about the festival so far?â
âWell.â He chuckled. âNo oneâs started any fights over politics yet. And the mead is good.â
âAre you taking part in anything this evening?â
Heâd had enough mead now to chuckle at that.
âOh, no. No. Iâm just here to watch. What about you?â

âI thought you werenât one for crowds.â
âIâm not, but being in a big enough crowd isnât much different from being on your own. Figured Iâd come and have a look, at least.â He offered a small smile. It came easy enough, courtesy of the festival mead. âHow have you been? Howâs Ivarstead?â

General â
âWhere did you get that attire?â âSo, are you here for the excitement? Or only the alcohol?â âWhere is the alcohol? Please donât tell me that I came to a party without any mead, at least.â âI thought you werenât one for crowds.â âWhat is your favorite thing about the festival so far?â âMaybe they should have made more food.â âOh my, is that ____? I was not expecting to see them here.â
Activities â
âWhich horse are you betting on for the race?â âIs that your horse? Itâs beautiful! Do you think heâll/sheâll win?â âAre you taking part in anything this evening?â âHey! Letâs go watch the sparring competition!â âWanna be my opponent in the sparring event?â âYouâre entering the talent show? Whatâs your act?â âIâm entering the talent show! Iâm going to ____!â
For Dates/Potential Dates â
âCan you get me a drink?â âWould you like me to get you a drink?â âWow, your date is fetching!â âIâm glad youâre here with me.â âWant to go for a stroll, away from all of the commotion for a bit?â âHow did I get so lucky to be the one to attend this event with you?â âYou know, after this, I think I might like to ask you out again, if youâll have me.â âThere are no words to describe how magnificent you look in that wardrobe.â
