“No, then again I never have been able to sleep much,” she admitted in a flat tone. Amelia peered out at the dark sky expecting to see the sun soon as it emerged from what looked to be the sea. “What’s keeping you from sleep?”

Melanie couldn’t sleep, since the day the pirates took her in the middle of the night she just didn’t felt safe sleeping and always woke up with nightmares, since she had just arrived Melanie felt like leaving her room and going out for a walk, what she didn’t expected was to find someone else. “Exactly.” She answered after all Mel wasn’t going to tell a total strange why she was away. Mel kept looking at him and offered him a small smile and relaxed a bit noticing he wasn’t a pirate.

Astrid handed him her water bottle, these royals seemed to have no sense of how to take care of themselves, especially upon first arrival. “In the future it’s usually a good idea to carry some with you if you’re going to be out during peak sun hours. The last thing we need is to be nursing a bunch of dehydrated royals back to health.” She met the prince’s eyes, raising one eyebrow, “No. Just enjoying a rare moment of peace and quiet.”

Though his lips parted, Antoni didn’t speak right away. His brows furrowed as he stared at the other. He hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, but now the other had his attention. “Was…that a joke?”

Antoni tried to stifle his laugh when he let it slip, but failed. “Why didn’t you pick something more comfortable?” His gaze lowered to her choice of shoes, already thinking up an alternative. “We could go for a run on the beach instead? No shoes needed.”

“You can always give someone the benefit of the doubt…” His lips pursed in thought. It was a hard thing to stand by considering the circumstances, being kept on this island by who he’s heard other royals call the enemy. Now he had begun to understand why. “Or trust your gut instead.” Intuition proved to be the better path for him in the past for the times he did follow it.

While he managed to bite back a loud sigh, there was no preventing his eye roll. Avoiding Nathan wasn’t going as smoothly as he had hoped. “I’m not in the mood for whatever lecture you’re trying to give.”

He hadn’t been paying attention, which meant it took him a moment longer before glancing over his shoulder at who had spoken. He stepped to the side then, out of the way. “Oh, excuse me.” Antoni spoke up, even though he had thought there was enough space for the other to go around him. “You in a rush?”

Antoni arched a brow since it sounded so pessimistic, but it was interesting and he wondered if there was a story behind it. “Sounds like you haven’t made many miracles.” His shoulders lifted in a slight shrug, finally disagreeing. “I think there are worse things, more horrifying than that. Maybe you just need a better miracle.”
