i usually don't mind when the character i play doesn't have much in terms of a personality, but like... it has to be done well, if you want it to work out. for example, persona 5 does a good job at this? the protagonist has a backstory and some established traits, but the player is sort of capable of influencing his personality by choosing various dialogue options. even if it's not much, it's just enough to not make the character feel bland and/or boring, if this makes any sense?

I don't understand why Ayano can't spend her time to get close to Taro and befriend him. Or maybe kidnap him like her mom did. She is wasting her time bonding with other people and killing them. How can she expect Taro to accept her confession when she devotes all her time to other people and not to him?

I've been gone for quite some time from yansim and tried to catch up and I'm just wondering... How did alex even lose 4chans support? I imagine that's nearly impossible with my experience with them

how could I write a yandere?

I can't remember where Alex said this (I wanna say it was in one of his videos awhile back, but can't remember for certain since it's been awhile), but he claims he can't pronounce "yandere" correctly because of how fast he's gotta talk in his videos. Is it so hard to slow down on words you have issues with just to ensure you say them correctly? Even then, the guy speaks slower than molasses from what I recall so this doesn't seem like a valid reason and he just doesn't care.

I'm glad you brought up the fact that Ayano's family bloodline basically needs to rely on someone let alone men in order to gain emotions. Surely, Ayano's lack of emotions could be explained via a tragic event in her childhood that caused her to become emotionally numb from the impact but YandereDev logic dictates otherwise... oof.

It's funny that the YS is literally just a bunch of easter eggs and references. There's nothing in the game that could be considered original and unique. Like, even the main character is just a recoloured model from Unity Store without any special features
