The reason that the DSM say that DID is associated with trauma, and not that it requires trauma, is because it's unethical to traumatize a bunch of children to see if they form a dissociative disorder.
Additionally, theres multiple other reasons too as to why it wont directly state, such as; as said there's many ethical reasons, trauma doesn't mean that they WILL 1000% develop DID or any other disorder around that spectrum, they would have to set up a certain structure (dissociation) in these children for it to develop into a dissociative disorder, it's also a covert disorder so not only would, the disorder try and hide itself for survival, but again ETHICAL REASONS

You can't become a system, through using drugs, full stop, not unless you where say, a child suffering with addiction, and similar things (before a certain crowd jumps me, yes children get ahold of drugs, yes they get addicted, their bodies are not prepared for that sort of thing, which may lead to trauma based reactions, especially if the child is under 12), additionally, bad trips happen and can be traumatic, and even more things, but this is NOT the same as "person takes drug, becomes system" thats not possible or how it works, thats 1. Watering it down a LOT, and 2. Not possible unless for the other situation(s)
In the specific talk of weed, for SOME, it may cause communication to become easier, more clear, ect, and so if someone wasn't aware before that and suddenly has alters who are very clear, it could SEEM like thats what happened, but that isn't true, and the "takes drugs, becomes system" thing is also invalidating these people and making it harder for them to figure out/accept the reality of it

No, they are not. I do not use reddit and I am very confused, this seems to come out of nowhere. We've been in and out of therapy for years, and noticeably our home life also isn't, and has never been the greatest, college is also very stressful
