She has vivid recall—not an eidetic memory, but still a good one—so she’s great at figuring out where she last saw something, but with that comes the curse of being able to remember nearly every moment of her three day “test” at the end of her Section 31 training. Three days confined to a chair, under a hot, bright light, blindfolded, no food, barely enough water to stay alive, and at the tender mercies of her “tester”, an unknown man who sliced her arms with a knife and demanded she give up their secrets.
She passed, incidentally, without breaking. But she remembers the man’s voice, even if she doesn’t know his face, and when she encounters him again, she intends to kill him.
So she distracts herself from her memories there, though it comes to her in dreams. She doesn’t sleep well, and stays busy to keep from remembering. Childhood recollections are more welcome, but her late adolescence brings feelings of shame because of the way she acted out.
Her fondest memories are trips to Scotland with her father, and Christmases spent with her parents. Summers spent with her best friend. Her studies at Cambridge.
But she wants to make some good memories of the here and now, not the distant past.

Since her job was in London, she hadn't had much cause to go back to California and visit HQ or the Academy since her graduation earlier in the year, but today she'd found herself summoned to Headquarters by Vice Admiral Brody, the woman who had been in the Starfleet recruiting office the day Anthea had walked in and annound her intention to join, and later the woman who had recruited her to the role she now held in London.
Anthea had a good how to kill before her meeting, for some mysterious summons that she'd been compelled to obey, so shafound herself wandering the campus she had, until recently, called home for four years. She knew she stuck out in her black uniform, but it was the one she owned. She wasn't going to put on her dress greys for this meeting, but she did have her wide, flat topped cap instead of the one most people at the Archive wore, with its close fit and negligible visor. That one would have *really * stood out.
(Note: I got this from a site that no longer exists and modified it back in 2010 so it isn’t anything like the original questionnaire.)
Personal Questions
1. What is your real, birth name? What name do you use? Anthea Skye Mackintosh. I use Anthea.
2. Do you have a nickname? What is it, and where did you get it? My family and most friends call me Thea. Lindy tends to call me Thee.
3. What do you look like? (Include height, weight, hair, eyes, skin, apparent age, and distinguishing features) Medium brown hair, grey eyes, fair skin. I look a bit young for my age. I’m 5’6”, or 1.68m, and I weigh 134 pounds. I’ve a birthmark on my upper back, between my shoulder blades, with no pigmentation. I have subdermal scars on my arms
4. How do you dress most of the time? My work uniform is a black jacket and a black mid-thigh length skirt or long slacks, with black boots and a black cap. Outside of work, I lean towards jewel tones and greys.
5. How do you "dress up?" Depends on the occasion. If it’s for work, I’ve got two dress uniforms, one in dark grey and one in black. If it’s not work related, I do like a nice gown but nothing frilly. I like lace but it’s delicate and I’m a bit of a klutz, so I tend towards more solid fabrics.
6. How do you "dress down?" Tunics and leggings, mostly. Or sweater dresses. I own exactly one pair of jeans. And entirely too many shoes.
7. What do you wear when you go to sleep? Something soft. Depends on if I’ve company or not.
8. Do you wear any jewelry? I wear my Starfleet ring, and a silver band with stamped stars that Mum gave me when I graduated from Cambridge. Jewellery isn’t part of my uniform so I don’t wear much at work, save for a small pair of alexandrite earrings that my best friend gave me for my birthday last year.
9. In your opinion, what is your best feature? My eyes, I think.
10. What's your real birth date? 29 June 2230, or 2230.181
11. Where do you live? Describe it: Is it messy, neat, avant-garde, sparse, etc.? I live in London, in a three-floor end of terrace house built in the very late 19th century, on a cute little square. The outside is pale grey brick, and I painted the front door a glossy red when I bought it. It’s rather old-fashioned and outdated, not a sliding door to be seen anywhere. Very little automation. I’ve a modest back garden and a conservatory off the kitchen, but my favourite is the rooftop terrace outside my bedroom that overlooks the city. It’s not close to my work, so I have to get up a bit earlier than I’d like to get there on time, but not being in the middle of the city all the time is a relief.
12. Do you own a car? No, I don’t own one, but there’s one in the underground car park at work for my use if I need it. I have no off street parking at home.
13. What is your most prized mundane possession? Why do you value it so much? Mundane possession? I dunno, my house? It’s my private space. I also really like my phaser. It’s custom. That sounds ridiculous but it’s true.
14. What one word best describes you? I’m sure I don’t know. Practical?
Familial Questions
1. What was your family like? They’re great, really. It’s a small family, just the three of us. Mum is a bit pushy, though.
2. Who was your father, and what was he like? Dad’s still around. His name is Graham Mackintosh. He’s from Scotland, and he’s a civil engineer. He met my mum when he was in London at university, and stayed for her. He’s a big teddy bear. I take after him, we’re both a bit introverted and reserved except around those close to us.
3. Who was your mother, and what was she like? Mum is Martha. She says she always hated her name, but didn’t like anything else enough to change it. She’s a London native, though Dad finally convinced her to move to Edinburgh with him. She’s a teacher, history teacher, mostly secondary school. She’s the extrovert in the family, and a bit bossy with me. I’m an only child. She has high expectations. We don’t always agree, but I love her.
4. What was your parents' marriage like? Were they married? Did they remain married? They’re still married, they got married when Mum was 22 and Dad was 29. Bit of a gap there, but they’ve never let it matter. They had me when she was 26, while she was working on her doctorate in education.
6. What's the worst thing one of your siblings ever did to you? What's the worst thing you've done to one of your siblings? I don’t have any siblings. Closest I’ve got is my best friend, Lindy.
7. When's the last time you saw any member of your family? Where are they now? I saw them last weekend, they came down and we had dinner at my favourite Indian place down the street.
8. Did you ever meet any other family members? Who were they? What did you think of them? I’m not very close with any of the rest of the family. Dad’s got two siblings and they’ve got a load of kids, but they’re all up in Scotland. I spent holidays with them but that’s about it. Mum was an only child, too, and her parents are both gone. Dad and I are all she has. I would have liked to meet my great-grandfather, really meet him. He died when I was three. But he was something like 117 at the time! His name was Malcolm and he served in Starfleet a hundred years ago, before the Federation existed!
Childhood Questions
1. What is your first memory? Someone, I think Grandmum Reed, tucking me into bed.
2. What was your favorite toy? I had a red, plush bear named Nelson. I’ve no recollection why I named him that, or if he was given to me with the name.
3. What was your favorite game? Twenty Questions. Drove Mum bonkers.
4. Any non-family member adults stick out in your mind? Who were they, and how did you know them? Why do they stick out? My parents frequently had work colleagues over for gatherings, but I preferred to be in my room, usually reading.
5. Who was your best friend when you were growing up? Lindy Williams. We met at summer camp when I was 13 and she was 12. She’s still my best friend. More a sister, really. I don’t recall any particular friends before that.
6. What is your fondest childhood memory? Dad taking me to Skye for a whole summer when I was ten, while Mum was doing a seminar.
7. What is your worst childhood memory? Breaking my arm when I was seven.
Adolescent Questions
1. How old were you when you went on your first date? My parents let me date at fifteen. Probably should have waited til I was sixteen...
2. It is common for one's view of authority to develop in their adolescent years. What is your view of authority, and what event most affected it? Authority and I didn’t get on well until the night Elworth stole this flying car, and we went joyriding. He crashed it into a- Well, it doesn’t matter. I was arrested but the charges were dropped. (My grandmum, Mum’s mother, was a solicitor.) I got my act together and finished school. I work frequently with a Vice Admiral in Starfleet, so I’m a bit more friendly towards authority figures now.
3. What were you like in high school? What "clique" did you best fit in with? I was terrible in secondary, especially the latter half. School bored me to absolute tears and they probably should have tested me out but my head of house was this old bitch who had hated Mum in school, and took it out on me. I rebelled at every opportunity from about fourteen to sixteen.
4. What were your high school goals? I had none. Absolutely none. I’m amazed I managed to graduate.
5. Who was your idol when you were growing up? My great-grandfather, Malcolm Reed. He’s why I joined Starfleet.
6. What is your favorite memory from adolescence? Hanging out with Lindy at camp, before her parents died.
7. What is your worst memory from adolescence? That night with Elworth and the arrest.
Occupational Questions
1. Do you have a job? What is it? Do you like it? If no job, where does your money come from? I’m in administration at the Kelvin Memorial Archive in London. Technically I’m a general administrative assistant, but I do many things around the archive. I was recruited to the position while still at the Starfleet Academy. I like it well enough but I want my own office!
2. What is your boss or employer like? (Or publisher, or agent, or whatever.) There are a few people above me, such as Commander Marshall and Vice Admiral Brody. I like them, I suppose. I rather loathe Admiral Marcus, but I dunno if that’s him, or because I hate his daughter. Commander Harrison, my new, direct commander, is… Well, it’s early days, difficult to tell.
3. What are your co-workers like? Do you get along with them? Any in particular? Which ones don't you get along with? I get along with most of my co-workers. Lindy, my best friend, works the same place I do. I don’t really have any conflicts with anyone.
4. What is something you had to learn that you hated? I had some specialised training for my duties at the archive that I really didn’t care for.
5. Do you tend to save or spend your money? Why? I save, mostly, but I do occasionally splurge on things. Clothes, mostly. I like having pretty things to wear when away from work.
Likes & Dislikes Questions
1. What hobbies do you have? I read? I watch entirely too much television on my days off, or in the evenings, mostly mindless stuff. Though I do tend to also enjoy procedurals and mysteries. Sometimes I think about taking up a craft, but what? I drew a bit as a teen.
2. Who is your closest friend? Describe them and how you relate to them. Lindy is my best friend. She’s more outgoing than I am. I mean, I do alright, but she’s a social butterfly. I usually let her drag me out to things on weekends. I’ve known her over half my life now.
3. Who is your worst enemy? Describe them and why you don't get along.
Carol Marcus. I can’t stand her. She’s rude and nosy and butts into everything.
4. What bands do you like? Do you even pay attention? I like some classical music. I’m not familiar with a lot of modern stuff. I’ll admit a lot of my music is from the late twentieth century, or early twenty-first. I really like this ancient band called The Script.
5. What tape or CD hasn't left your player since you purchased it? Why? Aren’t CDs those things they had centuries ago? What’s a tape?
6. What song is "your song?" Why? Gosh. I dunno?
7. What's been your favorite movie of all time? Really, really, really old movie from the 1980s called “The Princess Bride”.
8. Read any good books? What were they? I read so many books. So many. I read very quickly, too, so sometimes it’s three or four a week, if I’ve the time.
9. What do you watch on the Television? As The Universe Turns. I admit it. It’s utter drivel but it’s entertaining and nothing like my work. Oh, and… Hmm. Fantasy Planet is ridiculous but I can’t stop watching. I also love mysteries. I enjoy trying to work out whodunnit before the investigators can.
10. When it comes to politics, do you care? If so, which way do you tend to vote? If not, why don't you care? I haven’t paid much attention to that sort of thing in ages. Politics these days aren’t like they were, say, two hundred years ago.
11. What type of places do you hang out in with your friends? Lindy likes clubs. I go occasionally to indulge her.
12. What type of places do you hang out in with your normal friends? What’s the difference?
13. What annoys you more than anything else? Carol Marcus Overconfidence without the skill to back it up. Or the Tube.
14. What would be the perfect gift for you? Chocolate?
15. What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen? Commander Harrison The view of Earth from the orbital launch station.
16. What time of day is your favorite? I prefer evenings.
17. What kind of weather is your favorite? I love autumn.
18. What is your favorite food? What is your least favorite food? I love Indian food. And French fries. Not chips, but the thin, American style ones. Least favourite is anything that used to have more than four legs.
19. What is your favorite drink? (Coffee, Coke, Juice, Beer, Wine, etc.) Tea, though I do drink a lot of coffee. Picked up the habit in San Francisco.
20. What's your favorite animal? Why? I like cats. I’m allergic but I adore them. They’re such a great combination of fuzziness and murder.
21. Do you have any pets? Do you want any pets? What kind? I don’t have time for pets, though I’d like a cat. If I weren’t allergic.
22. What do you find most relaxing? (Not as in stress relief, but as something that actually calms you down.) A good cup of tea, a place to retreat to, a rainstorm. Commander Harrison’s voice
23. What habit that others have annoys you most? I loathe small talk.
24. What kind of things embarrass you? Why? Bollocksing something up.
25. What don't you like about yourself? My arse is a bit flat.
26. How would you like to look? I’m alright with my looks, bum aside. Maybe a bit more in the tits…
Sex & Intimacy Questions
1. Would you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? Why? Straight. Just am.
2. Who was the first person you had sex with? When did it happen? What was it like? How well did it go? Elworth Kennedy. I was sixteen, which was surprisingly late given how rebellious and obnoxious I was. Backseat of his car. So cliched. It was terrible, frankly.
3. Have you ever had a same-sex experience? Who with, what was it like, and how did it go? I haven’t, actually. Nothing against it, just haven’t.
4. What is your deepest, most well-hidden sexual fantasy? Would you ever try it? Commander Harrison If I said, it wouldn’t be well-hidden, would it?
5. What was the wildest thing you've ever done, sexually? Who was it with and when did it happen? I fucked my professor the day his class ended. In his on-campus housing. On the balcony.
6. Is there any sexual activity that you enjoy and/or practice regularly that can be considered non-standard? (Bondage, Fantasy Play, etc.) Why do you like it? Nothing I can think of at the moment. Things have been rather vanilla, aside from Kip’s penchant for- Well. Doesn’t matter now.
7. Is there any sexual activity that you will not, under any circumstances, do? Just about anything anal.
8. Do you currently have a lover? What is their name, and what is your relationship like? What are they like? Why are you attracted to them? No. Completely single.
9. What is the perfect romantic date? I haven’t really had much time for romance, so I dunno. Dinner, actual conversation, some wine in the candle light?
10. Describe the perfect romantic partner for you. Someone strong, confident, intelligent, caring. Someone I can actually talk to, someone who listens. I’d like a good bit of passion, too.
11. Do you ever want to get married and have children? When do you see this happening? Eventually, I’d like to, but my work is… restrictive and it’s a bit difficult to meet a man who doesn’t mind that I can’t talk about what I do.
12. What is more important - sex or intimacy? Why? Intimacy, though I do enjoy sex.
13. What was your most recent relationship like? Who was it with? (Does not need to be sexual, merely romantic.) I had a friends-with-benefits arrangement but he was killed. His name was Kip. He was open to more but I couldn’t commit and now he’s gone.
14. What's the worst thing you've done to someone you loved? I wasn’t in love with Kip, but I really regret not taking him up on lunch the last time he was in London before he took the assignment on the Farragut.
Drug & Alcohol Questions
1. How old were you when you first got drunk? What was the experience like? Did anything good come out of it? Did anything bad come out of it? I was fifteen. Lindy knicked something vile from her aunt and uncle and we made ourselves drink it. I don’t even know what it was. I got absolutely smashed and was sick for at least two days. Mum and Daddy weren’t at all sympathetic but let my hangover be my punishment. Probably shouldn’t have, in retrospect. I spent a good year drinking and partying, until the Incident. Made myself quit entirely through university.
2. Do you drink on any kind of regular basis?
Just the occasional glass of wine with dinner. I’m not much of a drinker.
3. What kind of alcohol do you prefer?
Generally a white wine. Nothing too sweet.
4. Have you ever tried any other kind of "mood altering" substance? Which one(s)? What did you think of each? I tried a few things as a teenager, didn’t like them much. Smoked a joint once. It made me paranoid.
5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Are there any people should not do? Why or why not? I’m not a fan of drugs. I think they can be very dangerous, especially when used irresponsibly. But I don’t make choices for others. As long as their use doesn’t interfere with my life, I don’t care.
Morality Questions
1. What one act in your past are you most ashamed of? What one act in your past are you most proud of? When I was forced to execute someone during training Helping Elworth steal a car was the worst. Most proud of would be graduating Starfleet Academy
2. Have you ever been in an argument before? Over what, with who, and who won? Oh, loads. Too many to count. Especially with my parents.
3. Have you ever been in a physical fight before? Over what, with who, and who won? Does self defense training count? I got in a few fights in secondary. It’s not worth relating, it was all stupid stuff.
4. What do you feel most strongly about? Protecting the Federation
5. What do you pretend to feel strongly about, just to impress people? I don’t pretend to impress anyone. I’ve enough pretence about my job.
6. What trait do you find most admirable, and how often do you find it? Kindness? I don’t know. Strength of character, too. And I’m not talking egotism or narcissism. Genuine strength.
7. Is there anything you think should not be incorporated into the media or art (sex, violence, greed, etc.,)? If so, what and why, and if not, why not? The sexualisation of children. It’s been creeping back into media, I understand it was a huge problem in the early twenty-first century, but we got rid of it, or thought we did, after WWIII. I’d dearly love to hunt down people who exploit children.
8. Do you have any feelings in general that you are disturbed by? What are they? Why do they disturb you? Sometimes I’m filled with rage I don’t know what to do with. I just get so angry, and I try very hard not to lash out, verbally or physically. Don’t always succeed.
9. What is your religious view of things? What religion, if any, do you call your own? I’m not religious at all. I celebrate Christmas with my parents but that’s about it.
10. Do you think the future is hopeful? Why? I’d like to think so. Recent events have made me more pessimistic, though.
11. Is an ounce of prevention really worth a pound of cure? Which is more valuable? Why do you feel this way? Prevention, because to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
12. What's the worst thing that can be done to another person? Why? Taking away their freedom, whether by death or by slavery. Second to that, sexual assault.
13. What's the worst thing you could actually do to someone you hated? Hurt them in a way that prolonged their suffering as long as possible.
14. Are you a better leader or follower? Why do you think that? If you think the whole leader-follower archetype is a crock of shit, say so, and explain why? I’m not a leader, but I’m not a blind follower.
15. What is your responsibility to the world, if any? Why do you think that? To do what I can to protect us from the enemy. I feel that to know of a threat but ignore it is incredibly irresponsible.
16. Do you think redemption is possible? If so, can anyone be redeemed, or are there only certain circumstances that can be? If not, why do you think nothing can redeem itself? It depends entirely upon the person and the situation. The person who destroyed Vulcan and a large chunk of our fleet died horribly and I’m … happy about that. I would not have been open to redemption for him.
17. Is it okay for you to cry? When was the last time you cried? The last time I cried was when I heard about the loss of the Farragut.
18. What do you think is wrong with MOST people, overall? They're people, and thus fallible.
Miscellaneous Questions
1. What is the thing that has frightened you most? Do you think there is anything out there that's scarier than that? What do you think that would be? Recordings of the destruction of Vulcan are about the scariest I’ve seen. And if there’s worse out there, I don’t want to see it.
2. Has anyone or anything you've ever cared about died? How did you feel about it? What happened? Yeah. Kip died. My grandparents, too. Separate incidents, though. Grandfather had a heart attack. Grandmum had a stroke. Both out of nowhere. Kip was murdered.
3. What was the worst injury you've ever received? How did it happen? I was injured during a training exercise while at the Academy. I was cut pretty badly. I don’t like talking about it.
4. How ticklish are you? Where are you ticklish? The last person who tickled me ended up with a dislocated wrist. I felt bad about it but not enough to let anyone else tickle me.
5. What is your current long term goal? Become a department director? Not sure I want that responsibility, though.
6. What is your current short term goal? Get my own office.
7. Do you have any bad habits? If so, what are they, and do you plan to get rid of them? I can be very critical, of myself and others. I’ve got a mean streak I try to repress. Not sure where it came from. Yes, I do.
8. If you were a mundane person, what would you do with your life? What occupation would you want, and how would you spend all your time? I have most of a Master’s in psychology. Not entirely sure what I’d have done with it, though. I wasn’t looking into going into any sort of practise.
9. What time period do you wish you had lived in? Why? (Looking at this as an attempt to change history doesn't count.) What appeals to you about this era? I’ve a bit of a fascination with the last twentieth century and early twenty-first century. I like the really old rock and roll, like AC/DC and the like.
10. How private of a person are you? Why? I’m very private, largely through necessity.
11. If you were to gain an obscenely large sum of money (via an inheritance, a lawsuit, a lottery, or anything else) what would you do with it? How obscenely large are we talking? Private island obscene or private planet obscene?
12. What would you wish for if you found a genie? I’ve heard that reviving the dead is off limits with genies, so probably to gain telekinesis. I never feel only two hands is enough, and I can be terribly clumsy.
13. What do you do when you are bored? Terrible to admit this, but I read romances on my PADD when bored at work.
14. What is the most frightening potential handicap or disfigurement you can conceive of? What makes it so frightening? Being blind. There was a thing back when I was at the academy, involved a blindfold. Found I don’t much care for not being able to see my surroundings.
When you lost your virginity, do you honestly feel like you were ready?
Probably? I mean, I don’t regret it, really, but I wish it had been someone other than Elworth Kennedy. Cute. Stupid. Very unfortunate name. Juvenile delinquent.
How much older or younger than you was the person you lost your virginity to?
A few months older. I don’t remember exactly.
Did you give up your virginity willingly?
Yes.
When you were younger, did you plan on saving yourself for marriage?
Not in the slightest.
Were you sexually experienced whatsoever when you lost your virginity?
Some. We’d fooled around a bit first.
Have you ever had sex with more than one person?
At a time? No.
Have you ever slept with anyone you were in love with?
Not yet.
Have you ever slept with two different people in the same day?
No.
Have you ever had sex with the lights on?
Yes.
Have you ever had sex on the floor?
The floor, the sofa, the backseat of a 2241 convertible, the shower, a desk...
When was the last time you had sex?
It’s been a few months.
Do you care for that person?
He was a good friend, but he passed away recently.
Is this your significant other?
No.
How many times have you slept with this person?
I never kept track. Doesn’t matter now.
Has this person slept with anyone else you know?
Probably. I never asked him. We didn’t have that kind of a relationship.
Do you remember the best sex you've ever had?
The awful times are more memorable, to be honest. I’m still waiting to have my mind blown.
What is the most number of times in one day you've had sex?
Probably twice.
Do you enjoy having sex?
Oh, yeah. Just haven’t met anyone I’m really compatible with.
Since this time last year, how many different people have you slept with?
One.
Since this time last month, how many different people have you slept with?

DOB: 2230.181/29 June 2230, London, European Alliance, Earth
Hair colour: Brown
Eye colour: Grey
Height: 168cm/5 ft 6 in
Family: Graham Arthur Mackintosh (2197, Portree, Isle of Skye, European Alliance); Martha Elizabeth Mackintosh (2204, London, European Alliance)
Background: Anthea Mackintosh was born in London to an English mother and a Scottish father, the former a secondary school teacher and the latter a civil engineer. A remarkably high intelligence but low drive to apply herself led to several instances of teenage delinquency and a near arrest at the age of 16 for auto theft and vandalism (as an accomplice to her then-boyfriend). The experience set her straight and she went on to graduate from the University of Cambridge with a Master’s of Science in Psychology in 2250, at the age of twenty. A year into her PhD studies, specialising in abnormal psychology, after an unpleasant series of encounters with her thesis advisor, she abandoned that and joined Starfleet. She considered continuing her psychology studies in Science but was put off by the other requisite courses and chose Operations instead, focusing on administration after some conversations with one of her professors, Commander Kipling “Kip” Dunn, with whom she began an on-and-off affair once he was no longer her instructor.
Anthea graduated from the Academy in 2255, in Operations/Administration, and immediately took a position at the Kelvin Memorial Archive in her native London. Secretly, she had been recruited by Starfleet Intelligence and convinced to join Section 31 while still at the Academy, going through her training with the secret organisation between her third and fourth years in San Francisco. She was recruited specifically for the position at the Archive. To unknowing visitors, Anthea is a member of archive administration. In reality, she’s the interdepartmental liaison for the Section 31 research and development facility, as well as the one who eliminates threats inside the facility, meaning anyone who gets past security but finds themselves in a restricted access area. She’s in charge of interrogation and disposal. With her duties requiring access to all areas of the facility, she has the third highest clearance level at the archive. The only personnel with higher clearance are Admiral Alexander Marcus, Vice Admiral Winter Brody, Commander Emilia Marshall, and Commander John Harrison.
Personality and relationships: Her relationship with Kip Dunn ended for good when he, along with the rest of the crew of the USS Farragut, was killed in the Vulcan system by the rogue, time-travelling Romulan Nero in early 2258. Since his death, she has been irritable and depressed, more for losing a friend than a lover. She’s developed a resentment towards the Romulan Empire, even if Nero didn’t operate with their oversight. She doesn’t like Admiral Marcus, finding him to be rude and brusque, but she agrees that Starfleet needs to be better armed in case Romulus or the Klingons decide to bring violence to them. (She isn’t aware of Marcus’s intentions beyond better armament, but she’s happy to help Section 31 develop technology.) She feels Starfleet as whole is woefully naive and unprepared, even if she does believe in their mission.
Anthea is generally very practical, not drawn to a lot of frivolity. She enjoys pretty things but isn’t into anything she’d consider “frilly”. Though Anthea is non-religious, she does observe Christmas, usually with her family, and what secular holidays are still celebrated in the 23rd century. She’s not big on public displays of affection or manufactured romantic gestures, such as flowers, though she loves chocolate. Both by nature and training, she’s generally a private person and doesn’t have many friends, finding it difficult to balance an active social life and her job. Her best friend, Lindy Williams, also works at the archive, but actually is an administrative assistant. Lindy was, until recently, her roommate in the townhouse Anthea owns, but her friend moved in with her boyfriend. Anthea finds she actually prefers the new privacy and solitude. Not strictly an introvert, she deals with a lot of people all day long and likes having the space to decompress.
She hasn’t dated since the last time she and Kip parted ways, some three months before his death, and has no interest in doing so any time soon. That could change if she meets the right person.

It was a cool, overcast morning in London. Technically spring, but you wouldn’t know it to look at the grey everything. Rain threatened, but as Anthea arrived at the Kelvin Memorial Archive, she was glad she'd beaten the weather and hadn't had to hoof it from the Underground in the rain.
Marcus was already blowing up her communicator, demanding she be early to help him introduce some new commander around the place. More than an hour's notice would have been good, though. The admiral was an arse, she hated his guts and the way he looked at people, as if judging their usefulness. Was he involved with the day to day of the facility? No. She was. While she wasn't the one in charge, she was the one that kept everything running smoothly. And this was going to throw off her whole day, because she hadn't planned to play tour guide to Marcus's latest pet project. And please, please, say his obnoxious daughter wasn't along for the ride?
Anthea breezed through the security checkpoint. Technically, her desk was still at the front admin station, though her position had her dashing about the facility all bloody day. She'd asked Admiral Brody for her own office at least three times, but been denied for various reasons.
Maybe she'd bring it up to Marcus, since he was the boss-boss, the head of Starfleet (and Section 31) himself. If he wanted her to babysit this new commander--transferred back from some distant posting or other, if she understood correctly, to replace someone they'd lost in the Romulan attack two months before--she deserved it, didn't she?
Making sure her uniform cap was in place and hair smooth, she deposited her travel mug of coffee--habit picked up at the Academy--at the front desk and sent the admiral a message to let him know she was in position and ready when he was.
