Furthermore, he tortured the prisoners with a whole array of medieval torture methods, like the rack and impalement. Alfred even owned two torture chambers. One was likely mainly used for interrogation purposes, while the other existed purely for his own pleasure. In the latter, he also drank wine while he watched people die.
