2/3 fics of today (idk if I can get to a third one tonight though) but this one is a mash up of prompts too. enjoy!
303: âWe have to pretend to be married.â and can you do one where theyâre at an event for Graham Windham?Â
âThe kids in this room range in ages three to five years. Most of them come from backgrounds where a parent isnât around because of several reasons so they have to stay here with us during the day.â The woman from Graham Windham said as they entered the playroom.
Little kids were everywhere, some running around the room and others sitting at different tables doing several activities. The cast had to stand on one side of the room in order to not be in the way.
Hamiltonâs affiliation with Graham Windham was long and strong at this point and today the whole cast had decided to spend their day off at one of their facilities to volunteer.
âIâll split you guys up and the thing is to just hang out with the kids, play games and do arts and crafts. They just love new faces.â The woman starts splitting them all up and Jasmine ends up sitting with Pippa, Anthony sitting at the table across from hers.
The little girls in front of her start talking immediately as they scribble and color on the coloring sheets. Jasmine tries her best to listen to the little voices but they all start meshing into one. She looks over at Pippa who shrugs and laughs along with her.
âWhatâs your name!?â The little girl closest to her, probably not more than 5-years-old, asks. Jasmine smiles and leans down so that the little girl can hear her.
âJasmine, whatâs yours?â
âLike the princess!? Are you Jasmine the princess? You look like her!â The little girl turns to all her friends and starts telling them all about how Jasmine is the princess in the movie.
She doesnât want to tell them no and so she just goes along with it, answering their questions and singing little bits of âA Whole New Worldâ to them. The whole table is entranced with her and itâs all she can do to keep it up.
âWhereâs Aladdin? Is he here too?â Another one of the little girls ask her.
âOh yeah, heâs at that table over there.â Pippa answers her, pointing at Anthony. Jasmine rolls her eyes and shakes her head at Pippa, all the little girls squealing with delight.
She feels the hem of her shirt being pulled to her left and sees another little girl trying to get her attention. âCan we meet him?â Her little eyes widen and Jasmine suddenly canât say no.
So she gets up and leads the group of little girls to Anthonyâs table.
âHeyâŠâ He stands up and she pulls him close to her.
âWe have to pretend to be married. Those kids think weâre Jasmine and Aladdin.â She tells him and pulls away to introduce him to the group, all the little girls running up to him and start shouting and asking questions.
Anthony sits back down in the tiny chair so he can be eye level with the little girls, he ends up pulling the littlest girl into his lap and starts to answer their questions one by one.
âI think I like Agrabah better but Disneyland is cool too.â
âNope, sorry the magic carpet and Abu couldnât come visit today.â
âOh, yeah, I wear real shirts when Iâm here.â
Jasmine watches in awe and canât contain the warm filling swelling inside her. The girls canât stop staring at Anthony and honestly she canât stop staring at him either. He motions for her to sit next to him and she does willingly, answering questions together and they end up singing and dancing with the girls.
When itâs time to go, the girls all whine but with little promises of coming back and a little bit of distraction from the Graham Windham staff, Jasmine and Anthony are able to leave with the rest of the cast.
âIt looks good on you.â Jasmine nudges him as they walk down the halls, lagging behind the rest of the group.
âWhat does? Glued up hands and marker smudges?â He laughs but Jasmine just takes his hand and squeezes it.
âNo, fatherhood.â She tries to gauge his reaction, kids one of the trickier subjects to touch, but he doesnât flinch when she says it. âThey all loved you, it was cute.â
All he does is wrap an arm around her and kisses her temple. âHmm, youâre right,â He pauses and she looks up at him, âThey were cute.â
Jasmine giggles. âNice job of avoiding the subject of kids, 10 points for you.â Sheâs teasing but she doesnât push him anymore.
âYouâre right though, kids would be fun.â He gives her a little smile when she perks up. âOne day, one day J.â
âOkay, one day.â She concedes, daydreaming about their future while wrapped up in his arms.
